Big Brother 8 Daily Coverage

Notice: It's Sunday and I'm taking some time off today. Since the live feeds went on Jem has been preparing all the posts, I've been writing where and as much as I can, and we're beat. So from time-to-time throughout the season, we'll be using special guest bloggers to fill in for us. Today, our special guest author is DumbBlonde. Jem and I will cover the late night and early AM, at which point we'll post the link to today's Blog. We'll be back tonight after the Big Brother broadcast on CBS. 12:00AM BBT: Daniele, Jameka and Jessica want Eric to convince Jen to put up Zach. Eric tells them the whole Zach thing isn't going to happen since Zach has been kissing Jen's ass.

12:20AM BBT: Kail is telling Dustin, Amber that if they are in an alliance with Evil Dick they should not trust him She says she wasn't HoH an hour before he was making deals and he can't be trusted to keep them Dustin defends Dick, so does Amber. Mike is in the bed too with the headphones on [But if I know Mike, the music's off and he's taking in the conversation.] Kail says she knows Dick has been saying bad things behind her back, "And I've been nothing but nice to him." Kail continues her Dick bashing, Amber and Dustin defend Dick and puts the blame on Joe. Then Amber goes off on how Zach can't be trusted, no one likes him. [At first I was afraid Amber was screwing up, but she tells Kail Zach's tried to be part of every group.] Amber really, really trashes Zach to the point where Kail may not trust him after this. After a long talk, Kail says she'll talk to Jen about putting up Joe.

1:00AM BBT: Kail tells Jen that it's OK with her if she puts Joe up and keeps Evil Dick, she's not concerned that Dick would nominate her. Jen say's it doesn't matter, she's decided that Nick's the one going home. [The room is stunned] They start to make their pitch and Jen interrupts, "It doesn't matter I've already decided." Kail says, "And you'd rather put up Nick than Joe?" Jen replies, "Sure, 'cause putting up Joe helps everyone and does nothing for me. Putting up Nick is good for me but no one else and I don't care, because no one has my back and everyone has Nick's back."

Kail's not too upset, she feels Dick will go home and Nick will be safe. Kail starts to count votes to keep Nick and counts Dustin, Dustin says, I don't know.

1:15AM BBT: In the hammock Jen meets Eric for "her date". Eric thinks they should reschedule with everyone watching but Jen wants to know what's going on. He tells her people are liars and there are 4-5 viable choices that would work (replacement nominations). He tells her that he's a mole and he's been included in many conversations now. [Most of them are him talking nonstop] He wants to give her a couple of offbeat ideas. He says that Joe, Nick and Daniele are together and Zach up would be a waste. She says that there's a 0% chance she will put up Zach. He tells her that they all want Joe and Zach gone and that he's with Joe but they want to get rid of him. Eric goes on to say that Daniele would never give up her PoV because she's selfish and that if Nick goes up, he has to go home and that he needs to get Mike and Kail to vote out Nick. Eric also says to Jen that Amber threw PoV. He says it would be better to have Dick in the house than Nick.

He warns her that if she doesn't get Nick out that would be the worst scenario. He says she's better off if Joe goes rather than Dick losing the vote to Nick. Eric asks if anyone tried to get him a replacement nom and Jen tells him no. He also asks if Kail is cool with him and Jen says yes. Eric goes on to say that Joe would be the best choice but would love to see Nick go. But he doubts they would have the votes for Nick. Then he says Amber. Eric asks if anyone has mentioned Jess as a possible nomination. He says maybe use her as pawn. Jen says no and she doesn't want her to go. Jen says they can get Jess to vote out Nick by telling her that this would allow her to get closer to Daniele.

Jen says Amber offered herself as the nomination because she has the votes to stay. Jen says she will try to get Nick out. Again, Eric says you need to be 100% sure to get him out. Eric says go Joe for 100% but Nick is 50-50.

1:55AM BBT: Eric and Jen's "date" is over, they conclude that they will try to go after Nick and Jen thinks she has the votes. [LOL - StevenV]

2:00AM BBT: Jen is explaining to Mike that she will put up Nick and that Nick is spreading himself really thin. Mike tells her that Dick is after him and she tells him that he's after Zach. He asks if Eric is with Dick and she tells him yes and that Zach is going home unless he wins HoH. In walk Kail, Dustin and Amber. Amber tells Jen she will vote for Nick to stay and Kail asks if she had the votes to get Nick out. Jen thinks that maybe she does have the votes. She is really trying to sell the idea of Nick being nominated and it's really not working. Amber says she can't vote him out, Kail tells her that the votes aren't there and Dustin tells her he would vote to keep Nick. Kail asks what plan B was. Kail tells Dustin to call Mike up. Jen more confused than ever. Amber says she wouldn't be up there for this if it wasn't for the handcuffs.

Dustin asks if she gets a 24 hour notice before the veto ceremony. Talk about what the producers say and FotH. Feeds back Jen says she has no alternate plan and doesn't know but needs to figure it out just in case the veto ceremony is tomorrow.

Jen wonders how genuine Nick is with other people. Kail says if Nick goes up he's stays, then that's a good thing. Kail tells her that Joe is her only option. Jen says that she doesn't want Joe or Evil Dick to leave because if they go she's next. Kail mentions maybe Jessica and Jen gives her the look that basically says no. Jen says she's fine with Dick going.

Talk comes back to Joe. Jen says it will be Dick and Nick with Dick going home. Let them do their campaigning and see what happens. Kail and Amber exit. Joe goes up to the HoH to check in. Jen heads to the bathroom and Dustin gives Joe confirmation that he is OK. Joe makes his way back down stairs a short time after.

2:30AM BBT: Dick, Jameka and Joe in the BY. Joe questions Amber being in the HoH and thinks Jen is trying to recruit her. Dick doesn't think they would be talking game with Amber in there. Joe said Dustin gave him a quick OK. So they assume that Zach is going on the block. Jameka heads to bed a short time after.

Between 3AM and 4AM BBT: Eric and Dick discuss Amber. Eric tells Dick that Amber just agrees with everyone and tells them what they want to hear. He then asks if he would have the votes if Jen put Nick up. Dick asks if she is really going to put Nick up. Eric tells him that she hasn't totally decided yet but it's a possibility. Talk later moves to Amber and that Dick doesn't trust her 100% because she thinks the world of Dustin and would probably sacrifice herself to save Dustin if they were on the block together.

Meanwhile... Kail has had to wake Amber up because she is keeping her awake snoring.

Eric eventually goes to bed while Dick is up doing his usual camera talking. This is what Dick had to say... "Kail has got to go next week. If you are in Oregon and going to church this morning, expect to see her soon. It can't be this week because she's not on the block, but soon. She has to go. God Damn it, but the plasma TV isn't bad. Goddamn man, I was thrown to the lions. I told the girl 10 minutes before she became HoH to fuck herself. Then I told her again 10 minutes later. Then my daughter and I get put on the block. Then PoV and one of us HAS to win. Then, TADA. Daniele wins it. It looks like Amber might have thrown it. I don't know. Daniele gets off the block, what we wanted. I get the TV, not too bad."

He continues, "Then the food competition. I haven't had to eat slop. I haven't had to alter who I am. God Damn. I can't believe I'm on the block and saying this but I doing goooood!! This is a fuck up funny game. We got to keep them from winning HoH next week. Believe they won't win. Oh, the bat's gone. Damm it!... If Zach goes up... Fuck... all I did was set the wheels in motion, came up with the idea, let other people take the fall. Sounds like a good strategy to me. Hmmm, gotta get Kail outta here. This week. Looking forward to it. I wish time would pass faster. It's all good. No Problems."

Lies down on the couch and he is now hard to hear... "We'll make two games with the cups." Talks about asking for the golf equipment... "Still dark, I'm tired, maybe I'll go to bed. Dick at night is headed out." Sees the camera following him when he gets up "Ha, I thought you guys quit on me" Stops in the kitchen and is cleaning again. He goes into the BR with the round beds, changes into shorts and gets into bed with one of the guys.

2:30PM BBT: Zach and Mike are in the gym and Mike tells Zach that he talked to Jen, and it will be Dick and Joe on the block. Mike told Jen it might be too hard to get rid of Joe later. Mike says that Joe suspects that he's going up and is freaking out. Mike also lets Zach in on the fact that people are talking about Zach sticking his nose in everywhere and only dealing with people on a game level, and not a person level. He suggests that Zach pull back a bit because he's putting people off.

3:00PM BBT: For over a week, the guys have been planning to have a "Strongest Man Contest." I haven't been clear on exactly what the contest is, as it doesn't seem to have any thing to do with strength. Jen is going to be a hostess or ring-girl and she is so excited to be given another excuse to wear Spandex, heels and be in the spotlight.

The guy's preparation for the contest includes a visit to the storage room for fruits and vegetables that could be inserted into their shorts to supplement the appearance of their manhood. Zach thinks an avocado makes just the right amount of extra "junk." Dick looks at Zach's misleading "package" and remarks, "Is that and avocado in your pants or are you just happy to see me?"

Zach says the avocado is a good choice, because if anyone makes any smart remarks he can whip out the avocado and hurl it at them.

3:30PM BBT: The guys review what the events will be part of the contest. There's an obstacle course, arm wrestling, diving into the pool to retrieve weights and one called "The Drunken Villager" where they get spun around in the teacup until they're dizzy, and then carry one of the girls across the yard. The contestants all have special names. I'm not sure what they're going for, they say the names with an Austrian accent, the names sound like faux Greek, and the look they're going for is Viking. Zagnus is Zach, Dustin is Diagnus, Mike is Magnus, and Nick is Cragnus. See the Video

4:00PM BBT: Everything takes so long to do on Big Brother. Just as the HGs are about to start, BB asks them to wait, they have to reload the video tape recorders. By 4:10PM the games were on. Eric did a great job announcing.

Audio Clip Nick was first competing in the drunken villager contest and succeeded with a time of 18 seconds. Zach came in with 15 seconds. Mike came in at 25 seconds. Dustin took first place honors. Next was the "Boulder Roll" which was a tumbling competition. Nick took first place. Round three is the hot grass dance. They had to dance on the hot Astroturf in their bare feet. Nick was also victorious in this competition. In round four, they had to retrieve two ten pound weights, and on twenty weight from the deep end of the pool. Nick won that too. Round five was the obstacle course and Dustin won that. Mike and Nick called it a draw in the arm-wrestling. The championship ended around 5:00PM at the east coast broadcast of BB was starting. Tonight's Broadcast: Reactions to Carol's eviction, and reactions to Jen's winning HoH. Everyone in the house was upset that the question that got her the title of HoH was flawed because no one thought that BB would consider that the giant teacup would only hold nine gallons because of the opening in the cup. The only person happy that Jen won was Kail. From the DR, Joe comments: "There's a door on a tea cup-- Oh what a brilliant technicality to bring into the mix to make the person who is the biggest idiot and gets the lowest freaking number because she has no spatial perception wins the HoH competition? I'm sick of people being rewarded for stupidity in this country. Jeez Louise."

The guys make a drinking game out of listening to Jen and taking a drink every time Jen says "I," "Me" or "My." The guys aren't drinking booze to get drunk, just water. After just a few minutes, it looks like Mike could drown. See the Video

In the BY, Mike and Nick are trying to work out, but Zach and Dustin are sitting on the sidelines cracking jokes. "It's really tough to lift when you have a couple of knuckle heads trying to make you laugh." Mike said. See the Video

The next segment is about the Nick and Daniele romance. From the DR Nick answers what many of us feed-watchers were wondering, is it for real? "I did give her the key to my heart. Actually it is the key to my suitcase but it is doubling as the key to my heart in here. My flirting with Daniele is real. She's someone I want to definitely get to know more."

Back in the HoH room, Kail's talking to Jen, trying to find out who she's going to nominate, and trying to protect the boys in her alliance.

Next is the food challenge. The HGs walked outside and the BY looked like a classic sort of game show set. They were divided up into two teams, blue and red. It was a team of six guys versus five girls and Joe. "As always I'm too fabulous for the men so I'll go on the women's team. " Joe squeals.

Jen hosts [And from what we heard later, she was so bad there were many re-takes] "All right, houseguests, welcome to the new hit game show: 'Name That Pie.' Each pie contains two ingredients from the game board. In each round one contestant from each team will step up to the podium and challenge their competitors to name the two ingredients of a pie in the least amount of bites. The houseguests willing to name a pie in the fewest amount of bites will have the chance to earn a point for their team. If after your last bite you can't name that pie, the other team will earn the point for the round. First team to reach seven points wins the game. The losers will be eating Big Brother slop."

The combination they had to guess were things like: bacon and banana. potato and pineapple, carrot and cheese, and Spam and blueberry. In the end the blue team won. See the Video

Shocking: Eric is America's Player and we were sure, based on his actions that America told him to try to get Daniele nominated, when in fact, America picked Jessica (which makes more sense). In this segment, we see Eric making a really good pitch to Jen for putting Jessica on the block. Of course we know it didn't work. See the Video

Next it's the nomination ceremony. "As HoH I have to nominate two people for eviction this week. I have nominated people that I think bring the most negative energy into our house. I always am very positive, outgoing and I think that some people bring the rest of us down. So I would just like to not have them here. That's it. Jameka, you are safe. " The rest of the keys came out in this order: Kail, Mike, Nick, Jessica, Amber, Dustin, Eric, and Joe. "I have nominated you, Daniele, and you, Dick for eviction. I have nominated both of you for somewhat of the same reason. I feel that both of you together cause a negative atmosphere for everyone so it's like awkward to be around, as you guys are awkward I'm sure together yourselves. Negative sarcasm, is really like rubbing off on the entire house and I think it started with you, Daniele, and I just think that we would be a happier place without negative sides. This meeting is adjourned." See the Video

The next task for Eric, America's Player, was announced: "The houseguests each have their quirks and Eric is about to develop a case of sleep walking. Into which houseguest's bed should he crawl into tonight?" Text your answer to: 81818:

From 6:00PM to 8:00PM Not much has happened in the BB house. Amber has been fixing her hair and getting all dressed up for a "date" with Mike. Mike won the date in the PoV challenge and was allowed to bring the person of his choice. BB has provided a table for them in the BY, with fresh flowers and wine. Amber gets to eat a gourmet meal instead of slop. They got salad, calamari , and asparagus, Amber selected chicken, Mike ordered steak. For dessert they got cheesecake and chocolate cake.

Amber tells Mike she didn't approach him first because he intimidated her by being so fine. Amber talks about Kail being grateful that Amber made a nice gesture towards her. Amber says yeah Kail said she was happy to have someone to talk to and stuff while they were handcuffed. Mike says he couldn't of been connected to someone that long, but Amber says it wasn't a big deal. Mike says if he had to do that it would have been with another guy because of the bathroom situation. Amber says that it would have been fine with her to be like that with Dustin because he is gay, man, woman, and a big kid all in one. She asked Mike who he would of chosen and Mike said he doesn't know, it would of been between Nick-- "No, just Nick, that would have worked out the best." They continue talking about the different personalities in the house. More details here.

Mike says he came into the house with the hopes of teaching someone, if only by leading through example. [Hmm, sounds good, but I'm not sure what he's teaching, I think I'm failing the course. -Morty]

Meanwhile... Daniele and Nick are in the BR talking in whispers and it's hard to understand them, but he asks her if her dad had told her that Jen came up to him and told him that she wanted to keep him around now and that she was putting up someone that didn't have the votes to stay... Nick says his guess is that it will be Joe or Zach... [we know it won't be Zach] Jen's not putting up Nick Video See the Video

9:20PM BBT: Amber tells Mike about her addiction to methamphetamines (speed). [We've heard this story before.] She says she was on it for a year and when seeing her doctor about her thyroid condition, she admitted she lied on the medical history form she had her fill out, and said under "street drugs" she should have written in "speed." Her doctor asked "Why? You should be getting high on your daughter not drugs." Amber says it was just the wake-up call she needed. She went home and flushed $600 of speed down the toilet and she's never touched it since. [An observation I made when she told the story the first time is that she still talks a mile a minute. ]

9:50PM BBT: Amber is still talking a blue-streak, occasionally she breaks so Mike can tell her about Wisconsin. In the house, they're just making happy-talk, about: drag shows, dating, slop, family, and that kind of stuff.

After the date, Amber and Mike join the game going on inside. Amber's called to the DR and house is on indoor LD while the crew removes the table and chairs from the BY. Also, during the date a camera malfunctioned, so Dick may have a long wait until he can have a cigarette.
