9:00PM BBT:   Feeds start.  We have some in hot tub, some in kitchen.  As you can imagine it's hard to get their names correct for now.   

Inside, in the kitchen, Jameka is talking with Joe briefly, but others come into the kitchen. Jameka thinks pie would be wonderful right now.  Joe is cooking something.

Dustin is in the workout room. He calls Carol in to talk.  (Carol and Amber are on the block) Dustin asks if Joe has talked to her, and she claims not to know what he is talking about.  
Dustin:  Joe is trying to put something together with the six of us.
Carol:  He hasn't even asked me about it.
Dustin:  See, I think he is bullshitting. I think he is so full of bullshit.
Dustin:  He was like, you need to keep Carol in the house, and I was like, I'm not listening to anything you tell me.
Carol:  I do want to say, I do not want to go home. But I am not campaigning at all.
Dustin:  Joe said, there are the six of us. You know, the six of us that are involved in the twist.

Apparently, Joe has told Dustin that since there are six in the twist, they should have a deal together. He is claiming that they DO have a deal together to Dustin.  Dustin is hinting that this could influence his vote.  He is trying to find out if this is true. He says that he can't see the pairs working together, really.
Carol:  Me and Jessica are kind of doing better, but we are not doing --  FotH..

They come back and  Joe is telling Carol that he  "connected with Amber right off the bat."  Carol says she understands that he wants to save her.  She says that she feels like she connected with him, too.  He says yes, but he has to make a decision, and Amber has his vote, and he has to be straight up with her.

Carol says if Joe finds people to save her, she will be helping him later.  She adores Amber, and she can't compete against her in a deceitful way.  Dustin says that he plays the same way.  But Amber has his vote.  
Carol:  Do you even have a vote, though?
Dustin:  That's what I don't know.
Carol:  I think it could hurt her, if she doesn't have your vote. And we have the veto tomorrow, too.
Carol:  If I win the veto, I will save myself, and will also save Amber.
Dustin:  That's my point. If Amber wins the veto, then my vote is to keep you.
Carol:  I appreciate that.

Carol says she won't fight against Amber.  He says she won't CAMPAIGN against her, but she will fight.  She says yes, that's true. She wants his advice.  Dustin says he has some ideas about who Kail will put up after PoV.  She asks who but he won't say.

Carol tells Dustin that she knows that people who want to play PoV have told her straight up that they will keep the nominees the same -- they don't want to rock the vote.

Carol:  I hope she knows that I will save her if I win.
Dustin:  She knows. 
Dustin:  The same thing goes in her boat.
Dustin:  You know, this whole conversation went live to the Internet.
Carol:  Hello, America!!!!

Dustin asks who she knows who would buy it. She says her parents and her boyfriend. He would watch to make sure her girl is being good and loves him as much as she says she does, and she does!
Dustin:  I feel like we're hamsters in here.
 Carol:  I feel like we're in an incubator.

9:37PM BBT:  Outside with the golf clubs, there are oversized balls and clubs, and there are normal-sized clubs and balls. Zach is practicing while Jen is standing in her bikini next to Zach. Amber is practicing, too.

9:47PM BBT:  Zack and Jameka joking around in the backyard. Jen still wearing a itsy bitsy bikini.  Dick and Amber are playing golf.  Nothing really is going on just everybody enjoying themselves for now.  Zack joking around that him and Jessica should make out when the camera focuses in on them.  He's saying something about saluting the Marines yesterday because of the 4th of July. Now he's giving Dick a hard time.

Jameka and Carol wondering if they can sing gospel or not.  We get   FotH...  We come back and Jameka is making slop.  Carol doesn't appear to be on slop from what we've seen.  Zack said earlier he was on slop while Dick isn't.

The houseguests are messing with the slip in slide in the backyard. Eric asks Jen is she wants to have a hammock date. He calls her a desperate bitch jokingly.

9:57PM BBT:  Jessica comes inside to the kitchen.  She talks in a baby-girl voice.  She is carrying around little bottles of makeup with her wherever she goes.

Jameka is talking about Chicken George having to eat slop the whole time.  Joe knows about it too and they discuss it. He says,  "George didn't think he would have to eat it, but he did."   Joe complains that the people who got to eat  "all that gorgeous food didn't bother to do their own fucking dishes."   Joe says he is just kidding--they will get done (the dishes).   Joe sings "So, everybody knows... I have Gon-or-rhea!".

Talk turns to when Joe is HoH. Joe says it will be like  "Caligula,"  with sex going on around him while he smokes a cigarette.  Joe says that he overheard Kail talking to Amber, and she said that if she is still here, everyone is going to throw it, because they know Joe will win it.  Jameka says that changes the whole game plan.   Jameka:  "Now we got us a game!"

Jameka says that BB could care less about her. She hasn't been to diary all day.  Joe:  Fuck 'em.  It ain't nothing but two tears in a bucket. Fuck it."

Kail is called to DR. Jessica complains that Kail is always in the DR. Then Jessica says,  "I guess she IS HoH.

Jameka and Jessica are talking about how Jameka already promised Amber her vote, Jessica wants to know if she can vote. Jessica is saying how Carol really wants to win for her dad and how Carol is saying if she gets to pick she is picking someone who is on slop.  

Talk changes to the veto comp:  Jameka:  "Really, the only way of saving yourself is to save yourself, and that's scary."   Jameka thinks it will be endurance because they have already had a physical and mental competitions.  Jessica said that she wanted to tell Carol not to pick Jameka because she would make sure Carol didn't win.  Jessica is really working Jameka about how Carol changed her mind about not wanting to go home.

10:05PM BBT:  Joe said that TV Guide asked him if he was Dustin... He said that he knew something was up so asked and they told him no and so he didn't have a clue when he got in the house and then we got   FotH.....

10:15PM BBT:  Jameka doesn't trust Dustin, she said it appeared back stabbing to her.  She said she isn't sure but she is watching.  Jameka asked Jessica who really isn't standing out to her, Jessica said that Carol and Amber till today, Kail is standing out only because she is HoH. 

Jameka wants to change the question to who is standing out, Jessica says Eric, Dick, Joe and Nick, only because they know what he is doing.  (there was one more name but I didn't get it).

Jameka says that Dick and her are fine now. Jessica says that there is no way Jen can win it, Jameka says it is because of the sobriety thing. Jess says that Jen doesn't bother her as much now because she has gotten use to it. 

I think it is Eric comes in and says something about the hot tub, Jess says she isn't a hot tub kind of girl, she likes the pool during the day. Eric says the slip and slide will be fun, but Jess is afraid she will hurt herself when she lands.

Jessica must be on slop to because she is talking about licking her foot after she put body paint on it. Said it tasted like Cherry and it must not be against the rules because no one said anything to her and now she is "cheering" about attitude and giving the credit to Eric for her attitude. 

Jameka is saying how no one will know who is in what alliance till veto and who pulls who off the block.

Eric and Jessica are laughing about how someone won't win HoH and Eric wants to make a genital shirt for her eviction.  Now they are talking about who Kail will put up.  Jessica wants  "one person"  to go.

Meanwhile... Jen and Zack were in the hammock talking about going to parties and about how if you don't play for POV you shouldn't be able to be put up. They also talked about how Zack's mushroom during the HoH competition was going faster then the others.

Jessica and Eric seem to think Jen isn't capable of winning HoH Jameka laughs. They seem to think she is very dumb.  Jessica said if veto was used Zack would probably be put up.  Eric is talking about making a shirt that says "Jen-ital".  Jessica thinks it would be funny if Jen was evicted the first week.  She adds that if Jen were HoH this week she would put up Zack because he was the second one to fall down in the HoH competition.   Jessica cant play for veto because enemies cant play. She does not want a certain person to win it.

Pink nails for Nick.

10:25PM BBT:  Nick in the hot but with Joe and Daniele, talking about how his dad thought he was gay since he did not date much and did not bring gals home, etc.  Then said that he had given a guy a "blow job" once.  Now they are talking about his pink finger nail polish and how it is chipping, and Daniele said that it looks like he painted a piece of hair into his fingernail polish.  See video

10:33PM BBT:  Dustin says it is kind of funny--the first night they go live on the Internet, they are given  "copious amount of alcohol"  and body paint. Jameka says they are actually kind of dull tonight--other nights, they have been more lively.

10:48PM BBT:  Amber Dick and Zack on hammock talking about if someone uses POV who Kail will put up.  Amber said she would be safe against Joe.  Zack said if he went up against Amber, Amber would go.  Then they talk about how Joe follows Justin around.  Nick joins Dick, Zack, and Amber on the hammock and they talk about how "the Six" paired HGs.  Amber says the only person she feels comfortable against is Joe.  She said Kail wouldn't put up Zack or Jen.  Dick says if he was able to be on the block this week he would totally be up. Amber says Kail doesn't know who she would put up if veto was used.  That's why Amber says Kail's sick about it.  That's why she wants nominations to be the same.  Dick says that Kail should be sick about it if she doesn't put Zack or Jen up she will be full of shit.  Amber says if she were up against Zack she would go home.  Zack saying if she puts him up it will fuck him over bad.  Amber said she wont.  Zack saying the ideal scenario is that Amber got off saying they shouldn't worry about who will be put up.  Zack saying there is a disadvantage against the singles. 

Amber talks about supporting Dustin and about how Joe has been saying things like  "You don't love me anymore."  Amber says that Joe just wants them to get over it. 

Dick thinks Carol and Jessica have a big rivalry more then they show.  Carol was talking about Jessica's mother and that is the reason why their friendship broke down.  

Amber and Zack are aligned with Dustin.   Dick says he doesn't know what's going on with Daniele he hasn't spoken too her since the game started.   Amber says that she likes Carol and how Carol would save Amber if she won PoV because she wants to go home.

10:52PM BBT:  Dick says that he heard Jen and Kail "cackling" in the HoH.   Dick is telling Amber that Daniele hates Jen.  Amber is wondering if Daniele likes her or not.  Dick says if he talks to Daniele, even though their communication isn't great, he doesn't think that she would like to see him go out so early in the game.
Dick:  One of the things she said is, you need to slow down--you are coming on really strong.  It was on the second or third day or whatever.  So, she is kind of looking out for me in the weird way sort of deal.
Amber:  I know what you mean.
Dick:  So, if the vote stays the same, I can corner her alone and ask can you keep Amber in, because she is --  FotH..

Dick:  Here is something, too. You gotta remember that Jessica and Daniele are talking a lot.  It's probably her closest friend in the house, is Jessica. T o get Carol out.  So, I would mention it to her and hope that she would go that way.
Amber:  Yeah. Hopefully I will get Zach's (vote).  After Nick talks to Zach, hopefully I will get his vote, but I don't know what Carol is putting in his head.

Amber:  Carol told me that Jen told her, I want you (Carol) here--you have my vote.
Dick:  Why would Jen say that to Carol?
Dick:  Carol is a little princess bitch, and if I had to guess I would think she would vote Carol out to be the center of attention. 
Dick whispers:  If Jen, by a stroke of Zeus, got HoH, she might even put me and Daniele up, because Daniele is her only competition with Nick, and we hate each other, and that would guarantee one of us would go.

Dick says that Nick likes Daniele, and she spends a lot of time painting his nails.. 
Amber says she and Nick have a thing that they've had "since the first day in LA, I looked into his eyes, and.."

11:00PM BBT:  Jen is alone in the HoH watching the spy cam.  See Video While Dick and Amber are still talking game.  Amber is telling Dick about how Nick was a virgin until he was 21 and about he has only has slept with 5 girls.  They both agree that they don't find Jen pretty at all.

Eric joins Amber and Dick in the hammock.

Dick asks if Eric is feeling more comfortable now. Eric says that he knew it would pass--the slip and slide and clubs helped him have something to focus on, and that helped.  Dick thought it was so great of BB to give them that stuff.

Joe goes over to talk to them.  Dick asks if they mind if he smokes in the hammock. 

Dick is alone with Eric.  He asks if the nominations stick, how would he go?  Eric says he was thinking something else yesterday, but now he is thinking to keep Amber.  He at first thought to get rid of the good player (Amber), and keep the  "non-entity,"  but Carol is  "pissing him off"  and he really likes Amber, so now he is thinking he will keep her.  Dick says that Amber will owe them after that, too.  See video

11:10PM BBT:  Zach and Mike are whispering in the room with the round beds.  Zach is filling him in, and says that Dustin and Amber are together, 100%.  He says Dick came over and talked to him about Amber today, so Dick wants Amber to stay.  Mike says Amber and Jameka are tight.  Zach says that Carol has no one.  Zach says that he thinks they can get Dick on their side, once Daniele is gone. 

Zach says that Kail is not discreet, and he just walks away from her, because people are ten feet away!  He says that if Kail wants to talk to him, then she has to go through Mike and Nick--he will not talk to her directly any more.  Mike says that he doesn't want to be the only one talking to Kail--Nick isn't talking to her, either!  He says that he was in the HoH with her a long time today, and he wants to avoid that!

11:23PM BBT:  Zack and Mike are whispering game talk.  Zack says Dick and Dustin are voting for Amber to stay.  He says Amber and Jameka are tight.  Carol doesn't have anyone.  Zack says  "the six"  thing is bullshit.  He thinks they can get Dick on their side once Daniele is gone.  Zack says they need to get Kail out but they can't. 

Lights out for Nick,  Daniele and Zach.

Jen is in bed, talking to Kail. Kail asks how she is leaning. Jen says she will do what the house tells her to do, but neither person on the block has talked to her.  Jen says that Zach told her that he was going to vote out Amber.  
Kail:  Zach said that??
Jen:  He said it would be the smartest thing to do.  Kail seems very surprised and says she needs to talk to Zach.  Jen tells her Nick wants to keep Amber and so does Dustin.  Kail continues to act surprised.  Jen reminds her that Dustin and Amber are bed buddies.  Kail says that Dustin and Carol were in the weight room forever, and she asks if Jen is sure.  Jen says yes.  Seems they are sleeping together in the HoH room.

11:30PM BBT:  Dick is still talking outside with Eric and Joe.  Dick says that people are saying that the people with enemies in the house have double the power if they team up.  However, any person in the house could team up  "to the end"  with anyone else, and they would have double the power, just as much as him and Daniele.  He also asks who Joe would vote for, and Joe says he would vote for Amber to stay, and he says that Carol knows it.  Dick says that if they are honest, if it was possible to put him up on the block this week, he would be up.

Dick doesn't feel he could support Carol to support him in the game later on, but he could trust Amber.  Joe says he feels the opposite.   Dick fears Daniele would put him up.  Joe tells him that Daniele was the one who brought up the alliance of six (enemies) to HIM.  So that proves Daniele is thinking of teaming up.  Dick says Daniele hasn't talked to him in two years.  It is her way of control.  Joe says he needs to talk to Daniele again then.  [Eric is listening to ALL of this, and yet he is not in the alliance of six, if it ends up existing! --ed]

Dick explains Carol asked him flat out if he would support her, before nominations and he told her yes.  But then as soon as he got done talking to her, she  "marched over to Nick."  So he feels he can't trust her.  Joe says she is not a good player of the game.  Dick says that Carol claimed that Dick and Daniele have an alliance, and Carol told Dick it would be easier on her if Daniele wasn't there.  Dick tells them that the thing is, he couldn't see himself as putting Daniele on the block. FotH.  

11:37PM BBT:  Joe and Dick continue talking about the PoV, and the eviction.   Dick says he caught one person, whom he will not name, in the worst acting job ever, in a lie. Joe wants him to tell him who, and he won't.  He asks if Dick doesn't trust him yet? He says he trusts him, but doesn't know if he can "keep his mouth shut," and he is just being honest, as his own (Dick's mouth) is his downfall in the game.  Dick thinks Amber might be working both sides,  and she could "work as their double agent" and she wouldn't know it, but could feed them info, plus she's really close with Nick.

Dick: "Nick would vote me out as quick as f--ing possible to make it possible for him to play around with Daniele."  Joe doubts that, as Daniele has a live-in boyfriend.  Dick tells Joe "That f--ing Kail has told Jen that the house is against her." See video - Part 2 - Part 3

Amber and Dustin in SR

Meanwhile, in the storage room...  Amber and Dustin are discussing who is going to vole for her to stay.  Dustin: "I am sick of people thinking Joe and I are together..."  Dustin's also he's worried people think they are communicating on "A decent level,"  he says it makes him "sick inside."  Amber tells him that Joe hates him and has said so.   Dustin tells her if she wins PoV don't expect him to be excited or show that he's excited that she won. Amber understands.

Midnight:  Back to Joe and Dick:  Dick says if Carol could vote out Jessica, she would in a heartbeat, as she is superior to Jessica.  He talked to her and said so many girls came out there to be models or actresses,  and then it doesn't work and they end up looking for a rich guy to marry,  then they look for a sugar daddy,  then they end up cocktailing,  then stripping,  then porn.  It's like the collapse of their life or expectations in life. Dick says that he heard Carol say said something about, "All the girls that are looking for rich men in college are majoring in communications." Jessica is majoring in communications, and Dick doesn't know if Carol knew that or not, before she said that.

Dick feels that Daniele is being standoffish to him.  He says that when they are together, people think they are talking game, instead of about life.

Dick says that Dustin and Joe said the exact same things about each other, like they talked before coming into the house. They were lucky that people on TV couldn't hear both.  He says that they heard both of them say the same thing.  He says that the three in the HoH heard Dustin say all of those things before they joined the others.  So, it was like Dustin and Joe had talked before they went on the show. And FotH!

So this is the moment we've been waiting for, the premiere of Big Brother 8.  As always, the show began with the video of the 14 houseguests getting their keys and learning they were selected for the show (I actually get choked up over those scenes).  

The narrator gives us a tease of what's to come: "And tonight six people have no idea what is about to happen to them. They will each come face-to-face with the last person they would ever want to see.  A  father,  estranged from his and daughter,  they have not spoken in two years.  [Dick and Daniele] A bitter ex-boyfriend, one sought vengeance by turning all their friends against the other [Joe and Dustin], and then these two, former high school best friends forever, but what tore them apart? [Jessica and Carol]" 

In random order Julie Chen lets the houseguests enter the house and choose their beds.  Carol,  Joe,  Mike and Amber entered first, then Nick, Daniele and Jameka, followed by Kail, Jen, Eric and Zack.

Julie:  "The houseguests are settling in and starting to feel at ease in the house. But they wouldn't be so comfortable if they knew that there are three other people in the house right at this moment. But where are they? And who are they?" See video

When we returned from the commercial we got to see Dustin,  Jessica and Dick in the HoH room. "I'm sure you are wondering why there are only three of you in the Big Brother house. Well, are you right. You are not alone. There are 11 houseguests downstairs, and not all of them are strangers to you.  Each of you will be spending the summer with someone from your past. It could be an enemy, or a rival or someone you have unfinished business with. In short, the last person you would ever want to see in the big brother house. The good news is the other houseguests have no idea that you are in the house. And you're going to be able to watch their every move, and they won't be able to see you. I'll leave you now to find out with whom you'll be spending the summer."

Dustin spotted Joe, "It's my ex.  he's wearing my shirt and I'm wearing his shirt."   Next Jessica spotted Carol, "Oh my God! That's mine. From high school,"  Then Dick saw Daniele, "There's my daughter. My daughter that hasn't talked to me in two years. "

When Dick said he hadn't talked to his daughter, Dustin replied, "Oh, God, I'm sorry."  Dick quickly clarified his feeling on the subject, "I couldn't give a [Bleep]  Because how it goes is how it goes and I can't change anything."   "But how are you going to feel about -- " Dustin started to ask.  "Kicking her out?" Dick finished.  "Oh, oh! That never even crossed my mind. I just meant like talking to her again after --" Dustin continued."  "No, I have -- honestly, I send her e-mails all the time." See video

Julie lets the rest of the house in on part of the surprise: "You may think that the 11 of you are the only ones in the house. But in fact, there is another group in the house with you right now.   And they have been watching your every move. Oh, and by the way, your first head of household competition will be happening shortly. It's going to be a fun one." See video

Only the 11 houseguests downstairs will be competing for HoH.  The HGs go to the backyard that's all decked out in an Alice in Wonderland garden theme.   Julie:  "Houseguests, the power is up for grabs. It's time for the first head of household competition. Julie: When I give the go-ahead will you have 30 seconds to choose a partner and stand in front of a mushroom. The person who cannot find a partner will not be eligible to compete. Choose your partners now. "

They paired off with Jameka grabbing Joe by the arm.  Everyone got a partner except Nick who sat the game out.  In a DR scene,  Nick said, "I didn't want to win the first head of household competition because I kind of wanted to lay low and mingle with everybody the first week and really get to know them."

Julie: "Tonight's game is called 'Mushroom Madness'  houseguests seated on the stumps, you will be asked a series of true or false questions about your house mates.  Every incorrect answer will cause your partners mushroom to spin faster and faster. The team who stays on their mushroom longest wins the competition and one of you will become the first head of household. "

Julie:  "Here's the first question. True or false. At least five of you have admitted to having cosmetic surgery." The correct answer is false. Only two admitted to cosmetic surgery.

Julie:  "I'm sorry,  Amber carol's mushroom is going to start spinning faster.   True or false.  More than half of you said you would give up your best friendship for $500,000. Answers, please. The correct answer is false  Four of you said you would give up your best friendship.  Carol and Joe, both of you are going to spin even faster.   True or false. The HGs perched on the spinning plastic mushrooms got a blast of slime blasted on them.  Carol and Amber were to first to fall, followed by Mike and Danielle,  leaving Kail,  Eric,  Jameka and  Joe.   After the commercial they boosted the speed up and eliminated Joe and Jameka making Kail and Eric the winners of this HoH competition.  Two HoHs?  Nope, the three unknown HGs would select.  Eric didn't want the role, and made a pitch for the three to pick Kail, and they did.  Kail Wins HoH! America's Player:  There was one last piece of business to cover, one more twist for tonight, the announcement of America's Player.  Julie: "You ever find yourself shouting at your favorite houseguest on the TV screen because you know they're about to make a fatal mistake? If so, we have a twist just for you. Because for the first time in Big Brother history, you, America, [she means Canada too] will be in the house.  One of our houseguests is called America's Player.  This person will follow your instructions throughout the game.  Everything from who to get out of the house to who to make out with in the house.  Time to meet America's Player." 

Eric is America's Player:   "So it looks like I'm going to be 'America's Player' welcome to reality TV's first alliance of 10 million. I couldn't be more excited. We're going to pull off reality TV history. We're going to win this thing.  I'm going to do this for the on-line Bloggers, the live feed watchers and everyone sitting on their couch who are saying like what a bunch of idiots. You guys are in full control of my destiny in this house. You're going to be able to tell me who to vote for, who to target for nomination. Your wish is my command. I'm here to give you guys with what you want. I hope America realizes this is a chance for us to be the stars of this show and send everybody else packing.  If I lose this will be the most demeaning moment of my life.  I'm the quintessential Big Brother player. I got the brains, I got the cutthroat skills. We're going to have some fun. We're going to bring it home, America." See video

Julie:  "Now that you know the identity of America's player, here's how it will work. You will be giving directions to Eric every episode this summer starting this Sunday, be it text message or on-line at CBS.com.  You give the directions and Eric must follow them.  And he is sure to obey you because for every five tasks he completes he will earn $10,000.  Will you be able to lead Eric to the end of the game and the half million dollar grand prize? This summer the power is in your hands, America. And this is just the beginning of an exciting summer.  The fun's just getting started in the Big Brother house. Will enemies bury the hatchet?  Or fight to the finish. "

As the episode ended, we saw that Daniele was very stressed and upset over seeing her father, and Joe and Dustin are already finding the BB house too small for them.

Time For Malice In Wonderland

Big Brother 8 is ready to premier tonight at 8 PM ET/PT and for many it is like they are children awaiting the arrival of Santa Claus. Fans throughout all 50 states as Canada are chomping at the bit in anticipation of tonight's season 8 premier.

This years edition promises to be unlike any Big Brother that has come before. Alison Grodner and Julie Chen are careful to point out that many of the houseguests will find themselves locked in the Big Brother 8 house with someone from their past that was trouble. It could be a past friend, a past employer, or a past neighbor.
