Wednesday, July 6, 2005:  Diane And Drew On Early Show
CBS finally showed the Big Brother 6 preview with Diane and Drew. Hanklee sent us this clip during a storm watch. Now that’s dedication! imageThe Early Show [4 minutes 08 seconds]

E TV Jackie  posted an Interview with Jym Buss the Supervising Producer - Competitions for 'Big Brother.'

From JAM! Showbiz  reporter John Powell -For the first time ever, Big Brother’s Head of Household will be allowed to communicate with the outside world.

CBS announced today that ‘Big Brother’ fans will be able to peruse a Head of Household Blog where they will be able to read first-hand accounts from each week's Head of Household on life in the house. The Head of Household will also be given a digital camera. The blog and his or her photos will be posted on CBS.com

Dade, one of our team posted a Live interview between Ama Daetz and Julie Chen.

Also, Brekkie Boy has posted his prediction of this year's floor plan - and included last year's for comparison.

Tuesday, July 5, 2005:  Reality News Now Reveals Fake Houseguests
Our reporters have been scouring the Internet and have some really good tidbits for today.  Some group cast photos and a story from Reality News that confirms we were NOT crazy!  Test cast members did in fact move into the house between June 20th and 26th.  They were living out day-to-day activities to make sure the house was workable.  (see below for article)

Reality News Now - 04 July 2005 In an effort to verify that everything inside the Big Brother House was workable and ready to go, Shapiro et al. decided to have 'fake houseguests' enter the house for a period of time. These HG's lived the life that our real HG's will soon live. The had competitions, checked out the house, searched for secrets and more. RNL has the exclusive interview from one of the HG's who actually lived in the new house for this test period. Below are a few questions that several of our very own posters asked and our HG's answers.  Full Details

The fake guests go on to say they didn't find the secret room, but there is a new washer and dryer in the house.

CBS PollsThe Grand Prize:   With almost 25,000 votes.  Howie is in the top position for the Grand Prize with 14% of the votes.  Michael is in second with 13%.

First HG's to be evicted:   Kaysar is in first place with 30% of the almost 23,000 votes.  Janelle is in second with 18%.

Want to know what's going on in the house today?  Read our Live Feed Updates.  For larger cast pictures, see our Picture Forum.

With just two days to go, are you excited??  CBS has once again postponed The Early Show sneak peak at the new house with Drew and Diane.  At this point you might as well wait, just two more days!

Our Morty's "Name The Fish" poll is over!  BuBBles won with 42% of the votes.  Now we just need to name the rest of them.

Thanks to Crazy8Fan, Salter-path and all our live feed team.

Monday, July 4, 2005:  More Movement
1PM BBT:  Who can those people be?  There is still activity going on in the house behind the tank.  I'm sick of watching fish already!  Maybe when they add the bubble sound it won't be so bad?!?!  3 days to go!  Here is a video with some music added.  Enjoy.imageWho can it be? [2 minutes 04 seconds]

We also have this commercial sent in by Laggie. imageBB Commercial [19 seconds]

Links for July 4th:  Live Feed and Picture Threads.

Last night: (July 3rd) - Our live feed reporters believe that HG’s have now moved in.  Many people were spotted walking past the tank.  Our posters are making their best guess as to who the people are that we catch a glimpse of.  Here are a few pictures they supplied for us.  Check the top right corner of each.

Short dark hair.Long Dark Hair.

Blue Shirt.

Yesterday was when our reporters really suspected HG's in the house.  There seems to have been an escalation in the movements behind the tank as you can see in this video. imageMovement [3 minutes 34 seconds]

We were also supplied with a video of the fish tank being raided.  imageFish Raid [4 minutes 14 seconds] Let’s hope they didn’t take BuBBles!!

Saturday, July 2, 2005:  Glimpses of Life
12AM BBT: Our diligent reporters are telling us that last night at 11.14PM BBT the feeds started getting black spots appearing on the screen and by 11.30PM BBT the screens went black.  Speculation is camera trouble.  Maybe by the time we all get up, it will be fixed.  Let’s hope we don’t have this problem during BB.  If CBS/RealPlayer do have trouble, I’m sure they will feel the love from all the live feed watchers.

9.29AM BBT: Yana reported that the feeds are back.  The consensus is that they turned the tank light off.  We still have some kind of black marks around the edges.  What they are is anyone's guess.

4:56PM BBT: Coffeemug reports seeing a lot of activity in the house.  Women and men back and forth all day.  Here are the links to our Live Feed and Picture coverage for today.

Also, our “Name the fish” poll is still going.  But BuBBles is the front runner and it only has a few hours to go.

Correction:  The picture we had posted here of the living room was from BB1, not BB6 as captioned.
Thanks to Yana, Coffeemug, Crazy8Fan and all our live feed team

Friday, July 1, 2005:  New Early Show Date Confirmed
CBS today posted a schedule for The Early Show for next week and have listed the “Big Brother” 6 Preview for Tuesday, July 05, 2005. So make sure you tune in.

Diane posted an apology on her site.  “Hey guys I just wanted to apologize for the wrong dates. CBS emailed me and said they decided to push it back to the 6th or the 7th for sure to coincide with the show. Some crap like that. So again very sorry. Hope y’all aren't mad at me, haha. Talk to you soon.”

We have a “Name the Fish” thread at Morty’s.  Click Here to see what name is the most popular. (Who’s watching who?)

12.30BBT:BB has decided to add more plants to the fish tank.   They have covered the small hole that we had to peek through.  Here is a link to our Live Feed Coverage of the fish for today.

7.49BBT: Laggie sent us a copy of one of the new commercials CBS is airing.imageNew Commercial [30 Seconds]

Thanks to cajunchelle200, squirrel, Laggie and to all the live feed team.

Thursday, June 30, 2005:  Inside the House
We have some pictures of the house.  The HOH room looks inviting. But some of  the  beds in the rest of the house, look worse than what Marvin endured last year.

Speculations on the number of place settings on the dining table have already started.  It seems that there are only 13 places and 14 House Guests.  Are we up for an eviction the  first show?  To quote squirrel, "Maybe they will be playing musical chairs and the one left  out can eat off the floor.”

Something to wet your whistle. imageMore Fish [1 minute 55 seconds]

If you want to know what people are seeing through the tank today. Click here for our live feed update thread.

Morty added the new forums for our live feed updates and pictures.  There are links above in The Big Brother Index.

5.41BBT:squirrel sent us a new video.  This one has PEOPLE! imageWe see people! [1 minute 46 seconds]

Crazy8Fan found the best video tour of the house on www.welovebigbrother.com.

Thanks to the following for contributions to this update: squirrel, Angelo Joe, Crazy8fan, Rusty, Yana and all live feed coverage posters!

Wednesday, June 29, 2005:  Information Overload!
Update:  Entertainment Tonight (ET) gave viewers a tour of the house with producer Allison Grodner.  imageBig Brother on ET [1.5 minutes]

Finally we have what we wanted!  CBS gave us our first look at the House Guests we will come to know and love (or not) for BB6.  A complete Cast List with Bios is also available HERE on our message board.

Overnight "Big J" found a great article with the latest twists revealed. Click Here .

All fourteen of the house guests know someone else in the house, so think of it as seven pairs of two ... Half the fun of this season is going to be having those links revealed to us the viewers (rumor is we will know in the third episode). Each pair thinks they are the only connected pair!

Here's the "dramatic" part....   If a pair can make it to the final two, WITHOUT revealing they know each other or being  discovered, then the Jackpot doubles! That's right, if a pair make it to the final two, the winner will get $1 million and their runner-up will get $250,000! If a link is discovered or revealed, then we are back down to the standard prize of $500,000 and $50,000.

All day yesterday we were treated to a lovely test pattern screen on the feeds.

But today we are back to our Fish Cams and watching our friends swim, and undergoing major highs when we  spot people in the background! (kinda like playing "Where's Waldo?") It's our new sport until we get to the juicy stuff, click here for a minute by minute (or hour by hour)  rundown!

It seems we can now confirm this too: Morty said "We're especially excited because one of our posters thinks a buddy of his was selected." Just keep visiting our forums for details!

One more thing, thanks to squirrel for capturing the latest BB commercial. imageCBS Commercial [21 seconds]

Thanks to the following for contributions to this update: squirrel, Angelo Joe, Big J, Jem, Morty and all live feed coverage posters!

Morty Reports Now that we have conformation that TheMyxter has a friend in the Big Brother house, we also know that the finalists were told that they want to make BB6 more like BB3, as it was the most popular season with the viewers.  They were also told they would not need passports.  This kills the rumors that a BB6 US HG would be swapped for a BB UK HG.  Now the finalists thought that the sequester house will be in Hawaii, but that was just their guess because they're thinking beaches and palm trees.  There are other possibilities, like that in BB3, there was no sequester house.  Producer Arnold Shapiro says the house has secrets.  We know there's a secret bedroom, but maybe the house doubles as the sequester house too.  So with every answer we get ten more questions, insuring another fine season of intrigue.

Monday, June 27, 2005:  Producer Shapiro Sets Rumors to Rest
Jam! Showbiz reporter John Powell had a chance to interview Arnold Shapiro, putting to rest some rumors about the new season of Big Brother 6.

- There will be NO moderator
- The theme is "Summer of Secrets"
- There is two stories
- There is no all star
- This will probably not be the last season
- There will be 14 houseguests this year
- The season will stay the same length, despite the extra guest

You can read our posters comments here.

3.25PM: What an active day we had today with the feeds.  It appears that the crew is getting the house ready with those final touches needed before the house guests move in, and it sure is looking luxurious.

It all started with Crazy8Fan reporting "Okay the fish are back! They are cleaning the tank too! I see two guys looking in to the tank and they are adding more green plants! The fish are not happy and they are all in a corner trying to hide from the big hand with a watch on that is cleaning the tank again!" (remember they are territorial) Finally, after all the excitement, the fish were fed and reported as happy!

Around this time we got this great clip: imageFish Fun [2 minutes 24 seconds]

5:49PM : We thought we had enough excitement for one day, until all of a sudden, the action intensified!

For the next hour we were treated to glimpses of the backyard, the roof and even a "red and blue" room.

The backyard seems huge with the washer and dryer at one end and a larger pool; it was even reported that there was an outdoor Jacuzzi!

We saw the work crew measuring, weights being brought in, and caught a glimpse of the hammock!

We were abuzz with the sighting of a foosball table! (thinking of the mind games that will accompany the physical ones)

t was an exciting day and we are plum tuckered out ... I feel like I worked as hard as the prep crew ... you never know what you will see on the feeds!

Read the complete live feed thread and Click Here to see the magazine article that includes inside pictures of the Big Brother 6 house.

Thanks to slowpoke, crazy8fan, Yana, Jem, Angelo Joe, Rusty and squirrel for all their contributions.

Saturday, June 24, 2005:  Already Hooked on Live Feeds
Last night in chat, we were treated to a blow by blow description of simulated activities in the house by the live feed watchers. We could see people sitting at the table and walking around again. Most of us assume that the technical equipment is being tested for camera angles and audio.

The conversation quickly moved to the fish alliances...

The speculation turned to nominations, kissing fish hineys and riding of fishtales. We’re still unable to tell all of them apart.  One stands out at times and has been labeled the "loner" as it doesn't like to interact with it's tank mates. As they start to show their personality, we should be able to distinguish between each "Yellow Tang". [Wonder if we will have a 2 fin plan?]

hanklee gave us a guestimate of between 20 and 25 fish as well as providing a video capture for everyone to watch. There is no Audio to go with it. We wanted to save your ears from the constant BEEP that CBS has been so thoughtful in providing with the live feeds for now.

imageFish Alliance [5 minutes 18 seconds] Keep your eyes open, we spotted two people in the background at the start and near the and of the capture.

2.00PM EST:  For us really diehard and desperate fans of BB.  There seems to be some more activity behind the tank.  People have been moving furniture around.  They changed the chair from the light-blue one to a dusty brown one and put in a round silver table to replace the square one in the earlier video. This is a smaller file with a lot more activity.

imageFor the Diehard Fan [2 minutes 24 seconds]

There is also speculation and rumor's about the HG's and when they will be sequestered. The theory goes ...

Since CBS will be showing Diane's interview and tour of the house on Tuesday morning on the Early show, CBS may not want any prospective HG to have any clue as to the shape or size of the new house.  So they may be picking them up sometime tomorrow - Monday 27 June!

You can read about it on our message boards.

Saturday, June 24, 2005:  Already Hooked on Live Feeds
Ranster627 Reports:  Well there is a lot to report already from the feeds, we are really getting our sporadic sightings of the crew and we can safely deduce that shoe wearing is mandatory!

Seems to me they are loading up on caffeine a lot with coffees (or tea) in abundance. I am so wired right now I need no artificial substances.

Looking through the tank we are making out a psychedelic silver wall, or is it mirrors? It has the campy feeling of a Brady Bunch episode …

So now on to the houseguests … they are known as “Yellow Tang” and they do swim back and forth and up and down. I am still getting to know them so I can’t report on any alliances yet …

I will try to follow their routine and make sure to keep you informed!

Found out some interesting facts about the Yellow Tang that convince me they are well suited for the house, they are highly territorial and need to be in groups of more than six or alone in their tanks … should get exciting when we get down to 5. Luckily, they are well protected with spines that protrude from their bodies (kinda makes me think of claws from HG’s past) …They are high maintenance liking bright décor! One more thing, they are not successfully bred in captivity so I guess we will have a rated G tank this year (unless they get “recreational”)!

Here’s a great link for more in-depth research www.aquariacentral.com and thanks to littlelaura for providing that.

We have a great thread going in our Forums called “Stalking The Fish”, that you can find here and more people sightings here too: click

Okay, okay, I know what you’re all thinking … and it’s true, we are starting a little early here at Team Morty’s, but let me ask you … aren’t you excited too?
Friday, June 24, 2005:  Live Feeds Started Tonight!
CBS Switched on the live feeds and we got to see the feet of crew members walking by and this year's fish tank, (FoTH)

Real is  promoting the BB6 live feeds on the Real Big Brother 6 subscription page, with a $29.99 price for the whole Big Brother 6 season.

Here are the links to the feeds that don't time out (could change by debut):

Friday, June 24, 2005:  Brief Update!
There will be 14 guests this year and the theme this year is "Summer of Secrets!"  Producer Arnold Shapiro described the new house: "It's an urban fun house, and it's filled with secrets."  The most intriguing  addition is a viewing area that looks down over half of the living space, "For spying purposes it can't be beat."
Thursday, June 23, 2005:  We're Ready
I see this page gets a lot of hits and I didn't want you to think nothing's happened since June 9th.  Since this season's coverage will be a group effort, we've been sharing stories and getting each other psyched as a group in the Big Brother Message Board. If you're not reading the board, then you might be missing something.

First, this Reminder: On Tuesday, June 28th, Diane Henry and Drew Daniel from BB5 will tour the new two story BB house with Julie Chen (it's really taped, they did it last week) on the CBS Early Show  sometime between 7:00 and 9:00AM (check your local listings).

There is mounting evidence that the HGs have been notified of their success and are already sequestered (this is earlier than in previous years).  We're especially excited because one of our posters thinks a buddy of his was selected, we won't know for sure until July 7th when the show starts.

We've heard all kinds of rumors about the number of guests, and the role of a new "Big Brother House Moderator,"  but so far just rumors and pre-show excitement.  So read our board and register (it's free) if you want to join in the conversation.

This is our first year, a new beginning, so to speak,  doing the daily updates as a team.  It looks like we've got all our bases covered, but that doesn't mean you can't help too.  There's info here.  And I've been told that I shouldn't post links to individual forums, too many people are missing all the other stuff, so click here to get the main page of the forums.

Jem's coverage of Big Brother on our site will start right after the big premiere, July 7th, on CBS.  Jem has assured me she'll be dressed just like Julie Chen for the debut, maybe we could all--  oh never mind.  Just tune in.

Thursday, June 9, 2005:  Getting Closer!
The premiere of "Big Brother 6" is getting closer and the excitement around MortysTV.com is building.   This year we're calling our updates of the live feeds "Team Coverage," as what you read here will be put together from updates posted on our board and submissions to our editor, Jem.  If you'd like to help by making audio clips,  screen caps, reporting, whatever, we'd like to hear from you.

I thought we had everything covered until someone asked if we'd still have video clips of the TV series for those people living outside the broadcast area.  Oops, I forgot about that-- So at present, we're looking  for someone with a TV card capable of recording the show.  If you think you can do this, contact and she'll give you the details.

As for the cast and other details, CBS hasn't made any announcements.  In previous years, accepted houseguests were not told until they were surprised with their keys (about two days before the start) and whisked away to a hotel where they were sequestered until the start of the show. So the absences of info is normal.   Usually, a week before they start showing the inside of the house and on all the entertainment shows and they begin promoting the theme (X-Factor, etc.).

It looks like the rumors of 20 guests are left-over pieces of info from when they intended the show to start in June and include former houseguests.  Now, with the usual July start, 16 people should be plenty for 13 weeks of shows.

There's some neat stuff on the CBS web site like this video of the casting director, Robyn Kass at some of the auditions.   imageRobyn Kass [2 minutes] But, the CBS Web Site, has much more!  The clip called "Big Brother Preview" seems to be out of order today, but keep trying.

Don't forget to check our board, already we have some inside information starting to trickle in.

Monday, May 9, 2005:  Premiere Date Announced
Big Brother returns for its sixth edition on July 7. It will air Tuesdays (9 p.m. to 10 p.m.), Thursdays (8 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and Saturdays (8 p.m. to 9 p.m.)

From Zap2It:
"Big Brother 6" is scheduled to premiere Thursday, July 7. As with past editions, it will air three times a week -- 9 p.m. ET Tuesdays and Saturdays and 8 p.m. Thursdays, with the Thursday shows featuring live eviction ceremonies. Julie Chen returns as the show's host.

From Reality TV World, MA:
Big Brother 6
will feature several changes and twists intended to keep the show fresh. Although CBS isn't yet revealing the details of most of those changes, they couldn't keep one very obvious change secret -- the fact that shortly after last summer's Big Brother 5 concluded, the network demolished the increasingly-stale CBS backlot building that had served as the Big Brother house for the show's first five seasons.

With a new CBS office building having been constructed on the Big Brother house's old location, Big Brother 6 will feature a new two-story house constructed on the site of Yes, Dear's former studio space. While the new loft-like layout will open up new production possibilities, the house will still have a backyard and include a pool that's nearly twice as big as that of the old house.

"We've had a chance to improve on the whole layout," executive producer Arnold Shapiro told Daily Variety. "Our cameras will be able to get real aerial shots. It will definitely look and feel different, maybe a little more like a loft space," added executive producer Allison Grodner.

While the producers aren't yet revealing the details of any additional changes, Grodner confirms that "it's safe to say there are surprises and new things."
