2003: HoH Part Two:
Looks Like Jun Won! |
Today's Food Riddle:
(Solved by Paige:)RIDDLE:
There are 3 switches and 3 lights, named A, B, and C. You are trying to
figure out which switch turns on which light. The lights are behind a closed
door and you can only go through it once. How can you do this? These are
regular on/off switches and regular light bulbs.
ANSWER: Turn on any 2 switches (lets call them A and B). After a while, turn
off one of them (lets say A, so now B is on). Go through the door. The light
that is on is B. Touch the other 2 light bulbs. The light bulb that is WARM
and OFF is A. The final light belongs to the switch you never flicked on or
off. |
Don't Expect Anything Things have been going
pretty much like last year's format and schedule. Last year part two
wasn't shown on the internet, and the HGs didn't know who won until the scores
were shown on the live show. Last year's competition was called "Life in
the Big Brother House," and was a series of tasks based on things you
would do in the BB house. Danielle and Jason had to make and eat a PB&J
sandwich, do laundry, arrange the pictures from the memory wall etc..
There were sections that took place inside. and tasks that took place outside.
It was all timed and none of the three could watch the others compete.
And for live feed watchers, it was FotH almost all day.
The winner of today's competition will go up against Alison
on Wednesday's show for the title of HoH, a title they will hold for a matter of
minutes. Last year's final part was a brief quiz, indoors, live.
This week's HoH will select who they want to go to the finals with. Those
two will live in the BB house by themselves for a week until they face the jury.
They will be questioned on one show, and the voting and winner selected on the
last show. The jury will select which of the two will receive the
$500,000. The one they don't select goes home with $50,000. At least
that was the deal last year.
Both Robert and Jun want to go to the finals with Alison.
Alison has said she wants to go with Robert, but with Robert wining three ACs,
and his complete loyalty to his team, she might feel he's too well liked
and prefer to take Jun. On Wednesday night when Robert took his hand
off the key Ali only promised 99% that she'd take him to the finals. Again
on Friday, Robert asked for nothing when he gave her the ticket to the red
carpet Hollywood premiere of "Runaway Jury."
10:30AM They're starting their day eating and
ADLs. 11:30AM One hour to competition. They finish getting
dressed. Today Jun's wearing a t-shirt and shorts, Robert's in a tank top
and shorts. They don't know what the competition will be, so they selected
practical clothes. 12:30PM Just sitting in the living
room waiting.
12:45PM Game Time! They picked balls to see
who went first.
1:38PM Short Game, They're Back - Looks Like Jun Won!!.
HoH Competition Part
II
[6 minutes]
With Robert outside filling to pool, Ali and Jun are in
the kitchen jumping up and down and Jun is saying, "I got it. I killed
him. He didn't even finish. He got some wrong." Ali: "We are going to win some money!"
Ali looks at the camera and says, "Sorry America, we just shot your pretty boy
right out of the fuckin' sky."
Jun: "He's gonna threaten us separately."
Ali: "Let him threaten me. That will make me want to vote him out sooner! When
should we tell him?"
Jun: "After dinner. Or sooner?"
Ali: "He knows he's done."
Jun: "He's so fucking done!"
3:00PM Jun and Ali do some whispering and decide to
tell Rob he's out after dinner.
Jun: "I wish today was Wednesday."
Ali: "Me too. Get him out of our house."
6:15PM Robert Tries to Deal With Jun Robert makes a
long impassioned plea to Jun to select him to go to the finals with her.
His reasoning why she should, because if she sends him packing, he controls a
lot of votes on the jury, and Alison will win. She listened, he wanted to
make it clear it wasn't a threat, but it was just how it would work.
Afterwards, when Jun is alone in her room, she says to the "camera, very
interesting."
Rob and Jun
[10 minutes]
7:15PM Robert and Jun Part Two Robert make
sense when he warns Jun not to trust Ali. Rob tells Jun, "She is
scared, she thinks she's lost. She sat in the Jacuzzi and wouldn't talk.
She knows she's done." Robert's called to the DR and Jun tells
Ali everything Robert said about her.
7:30PM Tonight they'll be dining on Mexican food, Alison solved
the puzzle again today. This is the third time Ali was the one to solve
the problem. The food arrives and they received crab cakes,
enchiladas, rice, but no dessert. Over dinner Ali tells how she was in a
bar and tried chewing tobacco. She said it really turned the guys
on that a chick would do that.
8:10PM Robert's cleaning the HT and the girls are on the coach
trashing the other HGs, and of course Robert. They bring out their fake
web site posters and gush over how loved they are. Alison has taken it a
step further, she memorized her page. The girls were told in the DR today
that the web pages are made by more than one fan. Ali and Jun have assured
each other there's no reason to pack. They're going to stick a pillow in
their BB bag. Robert is called to the DR and Ali says "Good. Could you
keep his stupid fuckin ass in there while you're at it?"
Ali on Robert
[2 minutes]
10:45PM The HGs are just chillin' tonight. Actually the
person they decided to trash this evening is Scott. Apparently his
antisocial behavior started before the live feeds. Considering the source,
I'm still reserving judgment. By 11:30PM they were reviewing the "X"
factor and their reaction to finding out who the last five HGs were. Jun
has a headache, and is going to bed early. Dinner has come and gone and
funny, but they forgot to tell Robert they're not taking him to the finals.
Today's
FAQ: Live feed viewers claim BB gave the HGs posters of fake web sites
yesterday. Do those sites exist?
Nope. You are correct, the three sites on the
posters don't exist, per se. This issue came up in previous years, and BB
people explained that the posters represented material that was written about
the HGs on several internet sites, assembled in a montage, styled to look as a
web site, but not a real web site.
So why fake it? It's not because these people don't
have web sites, but even where the three have fans, there's not one whole page
that you could show them that doesn't give away game information or negative
information. It looks like today's going to be slow, so I'll give you a
tour of fan sites.
Alison has four web sites,
AlisonIrwin.net,
AlisonIrwinOnline.com,
EyesOnAlison,
AlisonIrwin UK. The first is really just a blog (web log) and allows
the public to write as they wish. Headlines include: "I
am truly amazed that you believe you have fans." "You have shamed America, the
great state of Pennsylvania, the pageant and your wonderful school." and
"You are a spoiled brat and you need to be raised by someone that will teach you
some morals." AlisonIrwinOnline is beautifully designed site with
no negative material on the front page, but not much else either.
EyesOnAlison looks like a ghost town, abandoned like her loyalty. Alison
Irwin UK is great fan site, but how would it look to have to go all the way to
England to find a fan.
Jun has two fan sites,
Jun Song Fans
and
Jun Song Big Brother. Both sites are very well done, but the first
site hasn't been updated since July 25th, and it's title page doesn't provide
any information to read. The second site mentions "Yahoo," a competitor of the
CBS owned Iwon.com, and features a counter that shows a mere 1400 hits.
Robert only has one site, but it's really terrific,
Robert Rules BB4,
it has lots of information, oops, maybe too much information. Stories like
"This week it was exposed that Erika is
currently dating BB1 runner-up Josh Souza. More problematic was revelation that
Erika is also an executive producer of Josh's latest television pilot." and one tid-bit that includes, " Robert
stunned the others with an admission that he 'may' have slept with a transsexual
once!" So as Robert might enjoy reading one part that implies
Robert's hung like a horse, but the rest of the page may not make his day.
IMHO, I think it was wrong to have faked the posters.
BTW, Some of my readers had questions answered during the chat, so that was
real, delayed, not live, but the questions were real. |

2003: Chat With Robert Today
at Noon |
|
Robert Wins AC Again, Well, what do you expect,
we had no choice. So if you would like to chat with America's Choice,
Robert, visit the
cbs.com web site at Noon BBT.
No wake-up call that I heard, Jun was up on her own at
9:45AM. There was an outdoor LD at 10:40.
11:00AM The HGs are told they all have
internet fans and are shown big mounted printouts of the their websites, and
told what the America's Choice question is this week. As in years
past, BB managed to find mostly positive material to show them, and of
course nothing that would give away any strategy. Of course Jun's
site did mention that she has put on a little weight. Jun's site
refers to her as "An Asian Princess," and Alison's site calls her a pageant
Queen."

Rob says, "Screw this game. This is great [the
web site information]. They like us. They know we're just real people, and they
like us. That's what it's all about, man. "
11:40AM The winner is revealed Robert
has won the live internet chat. The girls are completely befuddled as to
why Robert would have internet fans.
Noon: The chat begins. Robert goes to
the HoH room where a monitor is set up. Just like last year, your
questions go into a pool. The BB producer selects the questions that are
OK for him to see and displays it on his screen. Robert reads the question
out loud, and answers the question out loud. Behind the scenes BB types in
Robert's response for those on line.
Here are a few questions (the cbs web site will have the
entire transcript): Q: Why do you constantly pick your nose?
A: I don't pick it, I'm just always playing with. It's a nervous
habit I can't seem to break. Q: You made a lot of us angry with
your comments about women in this house. Why should we care if you win or not?
A: I didn't mean to make those comments. I just don't know how to react
sometimes. Q: Robert, are you surprised you have so many
fans? A: I'm surprised I have one, let alone many. Q:
Have you masturbated since you've been in the house? A: No I
haven't masturbated since I've been in the house. If I could find a place where I could, I would. Q: Have you ever seen a house guest
naked? A: I've seen Ali and Jun. Q: Robert, I think
you're really sexy. Would you consider posing for Playgirl when you get
out of the house? A: I'd pose for Playgirl, but they'd have to
offer me a lot. Here is the chat, it's been time compressed so you hear an
hour and twenty minutes in twenty-seven minutes. It's still has pauses,
but it's much better. Chat audio and girl's reaction
[27 minutes]

When the chat ended Robert went outside and told the girls
about the questions he was asked. He said that people's screen names show
they're fans of the girls too, like "EvilAli," and "AliAllTheWay." Ali
certainly paid attention when she heard that someone had the screen name "Evil
Ali." Robert didn't tell the girls exactly what he said. I
remember from last year Danielle really grilled Lisa for details after the chat,
and even Lisa put a spin on the answers she told Dani about.
1:45PM While Robert's in the DR, the girls
talk about his remarks and think that Robert's a male chauvinistic pig.
Jun says she'll be so glad when he's out of the house. Ali says she hopes
Erika understands why she could not keep her. "I would have had zero chance of
winning against her. Now maybe I have a 2% chance of winning, and 2% is better
than zero."
3:00PM While Jun's in the DR, Robert and Ali talk
about all the horrible things Jun said about Robert and Erika. Robert says
how America must hate her for talking behind everyone's back, and Ali agrees and
says how she's so glad she's not like that.
3:45PM Roberts turn in the DR and Jun's really
tearing him apart. She had a rough time in the DR herself, they wanted to
talk about her nervous eating and how much weight she gained. Next Ali
goes to the DR and Jun tells Robert how much she appreciates talking with him,
heart-to-heart, with him really listening to her, more than the prizes she
won.
7:20PM Dinner's Here! They got barbequed beef
ribs, chicken veggies and baked beans. The beans did agree with Ali and
she later complained she kept burping them up.
10:15PM Memories of BB Past Rob and Ali talk about
previous seasons of Big Brother, and he asks her, "Do you really think this was
the best year or just because we're in it?" Alison replies, "Well
we're a lot better than last year's" Later Jun tells Alison how in BB1
it's the public that voted so everyone was nice to each other. Alison
says, "Oh how could you be nice to eleven people you utterly despise for twelve
weeks?"
11:30PM
More Relationship Talk Jun and Alison explain their rules for
dating, how much slack they'll give their man, and what they expect in return.
They both take turns relating stories as examples of appropriate behavior.
Jun's stories involve Bob not knowing when a girl is coming on to him.
Alison's stories involve Donny's other ladies threatening her life and
differences that end in fist fights.
Midnight: The girls have gone to bed and
Robert's doing his pacing around the yard. |

Friday, September 12,
2003: A Mime, A Movie and More |
|
9:18AM An Early Wake-Up Call There's a luxury
challenge today, but they don't usually get them up this early. The girls
are being their usual spoiled brats, Ali: "So far the luxuries this year have
really blown. Last year they got three grand just for sitting in a bird's next.
What do we get? Laundry."
10:45AM
A Package is Delivered A huge gift box is delivered to the HG's
BY (I think it's a prop leftover from "Let's Make a Deal"). Robert
goes out to the box and he can hear something moving inside. The HGs
received a mime with a tag that reads: "You better play nice because I'm
your ticket to tonight's luxury competition. What is the luxury?
You'll find out later. You can ask but I won't tell, because I'm a mime."
A package is delivered
(video by Dreamer)
[3 minutes]
The HGs figure he's a clue, and that his performance will
tell them what they're getting. However the mime acts out baseball,
fishing, circus acts, and just about everything else. At 11:45AM he was
still doing schtick. At 11:50AM he was having the girls sing the National
Anthem again. At noon Alison gave him a tour of the house. The mime stayed
for the outside LD. Afternoon
with a mime
[33 minutes]
Ali: "He chased me. Dude, he freaked me.. Dude I
wanted to leave him in the fuckin' box. I don't want to see outside people
that can't talk. What a dork. I hate fuckin' mimes."
Robert: "I was over it after the first five minutes." Ali: "Dude I was over it
before he was out of the box."
Opinions of a mime
[3 minutes]

1:30PM The Mime Stays On Ali's really
sick of the mime. The mime's moved inside and is starting to become a
little mischievous. I think he's playing up to the perception that Ali doesn't
like him. He chases her and she yells with that car-alarm voice of hers.
He dropped eggs on the floor and messed up Jun's kitchen.
Star spangled duet
(video by Dreamer) [2 minutes]
1:50PM Robert's patience runs out. I thought
he was doing pretty good, but he told the girls he can't deal with it. He
doesn't even want the luxury prize, he just wants it to be over with. Ali:
"I'd rather have Dana here right now." The mischievous mime hide Jun's
salad, and Rob are his lunch in the bathroom while the mime was in the kitchen.
Mime plays in the kitchen
(video by Dreamer)
[5 minutes]
2:15PM The HGs find out what the prize will be.
Robert discovers that the mime has the key to the desert room. The go to
the desert room to find it's been converted into the Big Brother Movie Theatre. The
luxury prize is the screening of "Runaway Jury" the soon to be released
film written by John Grisham starring John Cusack, Rachel Weisz,
Gene Hackman, and Dustin Hoffman. The film will open on October
17th, but two HGs will win a screening in the Big Brother Theatre, tonight!
The HGs discover the prize
[5 minutes]
See the preview
[3 minutes]
BTW, I didn't hear any of the HGs make the connection to their situation and the
title of the movie, "Runaway Jury."
2:30PM
The Game The guests got a letter from BB that said that since
they were tortured by the mime, now they'll get their chance to torture the
mime. They will be allowed to pelt the mime with balls covered with Velcro.
The first HG to get three balls to stick to the mime wins. Robert
won and chose Ali to see the movie with him. As part of the prize, BB will
fly Ali back to LA for the film's premiere in October. She will arrive by limo to walk down the red
carpet at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for the world premiere of "Runaway Jury." Later they both find out that they each get to bring a guest,
for Ali the guest's airfare and hotel is included too. Ali's considering taking
her brother, sister, Justin, or Nathan. Robert's thinking of bringing his
brother. BB will provide airfare and hotel for any guest of Robert's too.
Robert says he'll say at the hotel so that he and Ali can leave together.
6:15PM
It's Movie Time. Robert and Ali go to the movies and poor Jun has to
stay home and watch the mime. The mime asks (in pantomime) what she thinks
of Robert. She says he's OK, then the mine does an impersonation Robert,
touching his nose and face and pacing. Jun managed to find out that the
mime as a nine year daughter who plays soccer.

Why We All Love Ali: After the mime left and
the movie was over, Ali discovered her stuff cat was missing and there were more
ants in the house. In her usual calm manner, with that soft lilting voice,
she brings these facts to the attention of her housemates.
Ali Cat and Ants
[3 minutes]
The Big Brother House has had ants since the first season, BB told Ali
they'd see about getting an exterminator.
9:30PM Ali pumps Robert up with some talk
about not taking Jun to the finals, but also tells him that if for some reason
Jun wins and he gets evicted, to be sure and tell the jury how horrible she is.
Robert says how cool the movie was, and Ali gets and excited and thanks Robert
so much for choosing her for tonight's screening and the premiere in October.
Today's FAQ: There's two questions today that
dominated my mailbox: "How did Ali get on the show without filling out an
application?" and "How could Justin have been the last person Ali had sex
with."
Ali, Justin, Scott, Robert, and Jee did not mail in
applications to be on Big Brother. Although the exact details aren't
clear, it appears that another ex of Ali's applied to be on the show, and told
them about Ali and Justin. The producers invited them (separately) to
submit a tape and come to an audition. Ali was supposed to be in the Miss
Pennsylvania pageant and pulled out to go to the audition. To get out of
one of her commitments, she lied and told them she had a family
emergency; a block of concrete fell on the head of her father's twin
brother and killed him. In reality her father has no twin brother.
With Scott and Amanda, Amanda applied and quit her job to come on the show,
Scott was invited to audition, so was Jee and Robert. Robert had no
interest on being on the show but the audition was just a few blocks from his
house. He thought they might be giving away free stuff so he went just for
the hell of it. The producers still had to talk him into it.
Originally Brandon Showalter was selected to be on the show. He too had an
ex, but she wasn't signed to be on the show (that we know of). While
sequestered Brandon broke the rules and called her for a final message and was
caught by the show's staff. Brandon was fired. Oddly, the exact same
thing happened to Nathan, and he was fired, but his handler went to bat for him
and got him rehired. It's believed that Jee was brought in as Brandon's
replacement. On question 2, Ali was dating Justin
and Ali's father was coaching him in wrestling. When wrestling season
ended they drifted apart. Actually Justin says they never dated, it was
just a sex thing. Ali met Donny and had sex with him the first night.
She woke up in his bed not remembering how she got there. She said, "Oh my
gawd, did we have sex last night?" Donny answered, "No we made
love." She thought the line was such BS that she kicked him out of bed.
They did continue to see each other, but it was a couple months before they got
physical again. During this time Ali was calling Justin, just to talk to
him as a friend. Donny found out and they had a big fight and broke up.
After they split, Ali returned to the arms of her faithful Justin and they
resumed their physical relationship. Realizing that Justin was not
emotionally involved, Ali went back to Donny, vowing never to see Justin, even
as a friend again. Ali says this is why she went to pieces went Justin
walked through the doors of the BB house. Ali knows Donny cheated on
her and will not
sleep with Donny until he gets an AIDS test. So, Ali says the last person she
had sex with was Justin. |

2003: A Day Off? |
| Food Riddle: You have
three picnic baskets filled with fruit. One has apples, one has oranges, and
one has apples and oranges. The baskets are clearly labeled, but the labels
are wrong. You may pick close your eyes, and choose one piece of fruit from
each basket to examine it. If you can determine which label goes on which
basket, then you win the prize. (They had this question last year.) |
If BB gave them a wake-up call, I missed it. At
10:10AM Ali was up and studying today's food competition riddle. By 10:35AM
Rob and Jun are up to. The girls crack up when they see Robert outside jumping rope, "All of a sudden he decides to work out now?" They
assume he's trying to get in shape for the second part of the HoH competition.
After wearing a bikini made out of salad, Ali freaks out
again over the sight of her in the video they watched Monday night.
In her best Ali voice she says, "They almost showed my boob!"
Robert did tell Jun he was lonely and got depressed last
night. He still looks a little lost today.
Food Riddle Answer:
Take one fruit out of basket marked "Apples & Oranges." If it's an apple, then
that basket must really be apples, the one marked "Oranges" then has to be
really apples and oranges, and then the one marked "Apples" must be really
oranges.
If an orange comes out, then it's oranges, the one marked "Apples" has to be
apples and oranges, and the one marked "Oranges" has to be really apples |

Today's FAQ: Many people didn't understand last night's reference to
Erika's boyfriend. Erika is dating Josh Souza, the second place winner of
Big Brother 2000.
Visit his web site. Erika hid this information from the producers and
other HGs, of course the producers found out as we did, after the show began.
Here's Photo 1 and here's
Photo 2. I thought this news was like soooo week eight.
1:00PM Robert's been telling the girls everything
he knows about the game. Ali is so f'ing pissed to find out that Erika had an
alliance with everyone in the house, just like Ali.

1:30PM A
sunny morning has Ali telling stories about the parties of Lancaster County Pa..
They're held in the woods on an island on a lake, three kinds of beer, tons of
pot, and every kind of acid there is. They have police radios and walkie
talkies so the have advance notice of any police interference.
Robert tries to top her with stories his mansion parties at dad's house while
he's away.
2:00PM Where were you on September 11th 2001.
The HGs talk about what they were doing when they heard the news.
2:25PM
BB Gives the HGs more craft projects to play with. Today it look like
mosaic stepping stone kits. They fill plastic molds with concrete and
decorate with stones and tiles. Robert got a butterfly shaped one.

|
Ali and her melons |
6:30PM The cement is drying (that's always fun to
watch) and Robert's in the BY again doing some exercises, Alison's taking a
bubble bath, and Jun's in the shower. During an earlier
conversation, Robert said how enjoyable this week should be without any
campaigning. There's no campaigning, but there's hours of trash talk.
7:25PM Jun and Ali are concerned about getting
through the airport without being mobbed with fans. 7:35PM:
Dinner Arrives, they got sushi again.
Details: Ali hasn't had sex since she dated
Justin, and Jun hasn't had sex since March 14th.
9:15PM Ali and Jun are still trashing Erika.
They feel she had an alliance with Robert all the time. At 9:30PM Ali gets
Robert alone and trashes Jun for a while. Robert's argument for Ali taking
him to the finals is that Jun doesn't deserve it. Robert thinks she's a
mean person. He makes the mistake of saying that taking her would be a
sure thing, meaning that Ali would come in first place. He then explains
why no one would vote for Jun. Ali says, "Who is she to call Nathan
stupid? And when she said the last competition was slanted towards me
because it was physical I wanted to belt her. She practically called me a
fuckin' moron. . I swear to God I fuckin' wanted to belt her. She
said we played the same kind of game because we were both floaters... Well yeah,
but I wasn't a sleazy fuckin' bitch about it. I didn't go around
talking behind people's backs and saying stuff in the DR about them. "
The conversation continues, but Robert's arguing his case
based on what's right, and not how she could win. Robert says it would be
worse to loose against Jun, than to loose against him. Robert doesn't
realize Ali's out for the prize, no statements about who played the better game,
and who's more moral.
11:30PM Robert goes over his list of connections
and all that he can do for everyone. First thing he's going to do is hook
up Justin with anything he wants. Rob says Justin is interested in acting he
could hook up Justin with head shots. Alison adds "An' Erika's agent."
"No, she'll just get him on another Big Brother." Robert says laughing,
"Nathan wants to do it, too, but you gotta live out here. "
Jun says, "...and you've gotta be able to fuckin' read too." Robert
agrees and says he used to read lines with Erika.
Midnight: Jun and Ali are in bed, Robert's giving a repeat
performance of pacing and muttering. He once again ends up sitting in the
hall. He reads the Big Brother rule book, then studies the pictures on the
memory wall.
That's all for tonight. The next update will be
after 10:00AM BBT. |

Alison Wins Part 1 |

Find out who Ali evicts tonight. Find
out how the next HoH will be selected, Tonight!
10:15AM Jun gets up and finds Erika sleeping in the hammock in the
backyard. No wake-up call today, so Robert and Alison are sleeping.
Erika's been tidying up the house. At 11:45AM Erika's sitting on the sofa
and the plasma screen switches to "Expect the Unexpected." It could
have been the control room people teasing Erika, she's the only one that saw it.
Soon after Alison and Robert get up.
1:00PM Everyone's just going about
their ADLs. Robert's cleaning the windows, and everything is really dull.
2:30PM The HGs got new tennis shoes
and instructions of some kind.
Ali: "They didn’t give us new shoes any other time."
Robert: "This is the last HoH, so they want to give everyone new shoes and make it
fair?" The HGs have to solve math
puzzles, for food upgrades. They will receive regular food supplies,
but can choose their own meals if the solve the puzzle each day. It sounds
as though the first puzzle has something to do with the weight of balls and the
speed they fall at, or their weight relative to each other.
Erika has already resolved that if she remains in the house next week
she'll be eating PB&J.

Ali does her ritual of
talking to the pictures just before the live show starts. |
4:30PM I Didn't Expect That After an hour or so of FotH, the music
stopped. At 4:30PM we got a smooth jazz riff instead of the theme music,
followed by some classical piano. And yes, this is the most exciting thing
to happen so far today. Back at 4:45PM to show the girls putting on
make-up and Robert pacing back and forth like a caged animal. Robert's
anxiety is caused in part by his discovery that the show isn't over until the
24th.
The Broadcast: Showed us how we got to this point.
We saw Ali's indecision over who to evict. Julie spoke to the HGs as
usual, asking about the blimp ride and how Erika and Robert felt being in the
house alone. The second quarter focused on Robert being stuck in the
house with three girls, and one that he's attracted to. Julie asked Robert
if he'd rekindle the relationship, he says no, but they would be friends. She asked about his
referring to the ladies of the house as "bitches, sluts. and whores."
Robert said he was sorry about the words and that the anger was caused by the
events of the game at the time.
The second half started with David Lane
and his ladies (Amanda and Michelle) and we got to see what the three have
been up to since their eviction, and I wish they were still there.
David, Amanda and Michelle
[3 minutes]
Next we
saw what's been happening at the jury house, and Jee's arrival. Jee looked
relaxed on arrival, so I think he got his phone call to Carmen.

Just before the break, we saw Alison use the PoV, and
Erika take her place on the block.
Live PoV Meeting
[1 minute]
The second half started with the live eviction and Erika
was out. Eviction and Interview
[8 minutes] .
In Erika's interview with Julie she said she thinks Alison could walk away with
the money. She also thinks that Robert and her will be friends outside the
house. The HoH contest is about to begin.

an internet chat to? Click Here to vote.
Polls close at 10:00PM ET Thursday. The prize will be awarded on Saturday.
This is the first part of a three part HoH competition.
Whoever wins part one is guaranteed to go on to the second round, the other two
will have to compete in the second round for the place in the final round.
The HGs had to climb onto the roof of one of the small houses, insert their key
in the slot of the part that looks like a water tower. Then BB decided to
cool the contenders off, with a snow storm. You could see there was some
sleet in the mix.
7:15PM More Snow
While they're on the roof, Robert tells Ali and Jun about Julie asking him about
calling the girls "bitches sluts and whores." Robert thought the
talk went well.
7:35PM More snow
Jun yells: "The snow is going down my boobies." Ali: "It went down my butt
crack, eyy!"
Robert says his roof is freezing. The girls sing "The Star Spangled Banner" to
keep up their morale, that and "Jimmy Crack Corn," are the only two songs
they're allowed to sing. They sounded very good too. They solved the
puzzle for the food contest and told Big Brother their answer. They
decided to order sushi for tomorrow night.
7:45PM More snow.
8:20PM Jun adjusts her shawl. I didn't catch it, but BB and
other viewers did: While putting her shawl over her head, she momentarily took
both hands off the key (same thing happens every year). BB went back and
checked the tape and told her she was out.
8:25PM Robert says he's about done, but he's still
holding on to his key. With Jun inside, Robert tries to strike a deal with
Alison. Robert tells Alison that no matter what he'll take her to the
finals. In return, Alison says that she is 99% percent sure she will take
him. Robert agrees to the deal (what deal?) and takes his hand off the
key. Big Brother has Alison hold her pose for a couple more photos before
she removes her hand from the key.

The winner of that contest will face Ali in the final competition.
The winner of the third and final part will be the HoH.

The jury will select one of the two as the winner of the $500,000 Grand Prize
The second place winner will receive $50,000

[7 minutes]
They go inside to find that BB has provided them with hot
pizza. Robert takes off his shirt to find his back covered in red
blotches. He's called to the DR see Dr. Horowitz. While out of the
room Ali tells Jun about the "deal" she made with Robert, and how she would
never pick Robert to go to the finals. The talk about Robert standing out
there telling them that he called them "bitches, sluts and whores" and not even
apologizing for his words. They trash him in the usual style.
Post-contest trash talk
[36 minutes]

Robert says Erika never cleaned anything and never did
dishes. Jun says she'll vacuum tomorrow. Ali says Erika did do
dishes once because she broke one.
Robert joins the girls in some light trashing of Erika.
When Robert is called to the DR again the two girls really go to town on Erika
and Robert. Ali dissects the the scenes they saw from the videos they
watched Monday night. Ali feels that in the story of Big Brother, Erika was
labeled "The Witch." She bases this deduction on the music that played
every time she was shown on the screen, it was evil music. Ali: "Dude,
Erika is a fucking conniving woman!" Ali is also still sticking with
the story that Jack is a pervert.
9:49PM Ali: "You know another thing that pissed me
off... When she said 'I went to the the Big Brother 2 wrap party..'"
Robert interrupts and says, "You know why she was there? I can tell you
now. Do you know who her boyfriend is?" Ali: "You mean J.A.?"
FotH. BTW, Josh's middle name is "Adam." Later they talk
about Erika did not have her boyfriend sign the release that allows her to talk
about him on TV, because the producers would have known who he was, and she
wouldn't have been selected for the show. BTW, I said that from the
start, that there was no reason the producers of BB would have known about Erika
and Josh until after she was in the house.
10:55PM Ali in the HT. The final three have a
very convincing conspiracy theory that Jack threw competitions. But after
a few more drinks, Ali turns the conversation to the ex's and says that
Justin is the finest guy she ever met, "better than Donny." She says, "He
deserves a girl better than Dana. I'm over him, at the same
time I'll never be over him. Does that make sense? I'm 100% in love
with Donny, and even if he doesn't take me back I'll still be in love with him."
12:30AM
The "girls" are asleep, Robert is pacing the yard and wondering about
the house waiting for his clothes to finish in the dryer. It looks like
this more than a slow dryer that's bothering him. With him sinuses
being what they are, it's tough to interpret his emotions. He seems very
sad. He has spent a lot of time sitting on the floor in the hall looking
at the memory wall (Erika was already in b/w by the time the HoH contest was
over). Robert went to sleep at 1:20AM. We'll be checking back
tomorrow after 11:00AM BBT to see how his clothes came out.

2003: Nothing for Us to Watch
Today. |
|
Tuesday's are busy for the HGs, but dull for us. Ali,
Jun and Erika must pack, they'll record farewell messages. Very often
they'll get to practice in some way for the HoH competition. There's lots
of FotH. This is also their last meal from the four star restaurant prize.
Tonight's dinner will be Chinese.
What I know about Diamond PoVs: When the HGs
came back inside from the VC, they were talking about the prize. Ali:
"When I heard 'Diamond' PoV, I thought it had some extra special power. It's
just called that because it's the last one of the game." Erika: "And they didn't
have one last year at this point." Ali: "Jeez, it's really cheap plastic.
I got a broken PoV." Robert: "Well take it to the DR." Ali:
"The DR, why?" Robert: "Well you don't get to keep it. They have you
leave them in the DR, then the day of the meeting they put it in the storage
room for you in the wooden box. They'll want to fix or replace that one
before the meeting."
If the HGs are correct, the way it's expected to go is
that Ali uses the PoV on herself. That forces Robert to nominate Erika.
Ali has the sole vote. Ali is expected to vote out Erika because Erika has no
enemies on the jury. Although Ali herself has said that she'd come
in second place to anyone, she keeps talking about going up with someone she has
a better chance against. Based on DR scenes from the last two TV shows,
she feels these people are Robert and Jun. But remember: Ali changes her
mind a lot.

Claire from
England Checks In |
Hey there - it's Claire from
England again who thinks that BB USA is more interesting than BB UK.
OK, the reason that they couldn't have had the diamond POV in England is
because the POV doesn't exist in England.
The whole game is completely different here -
- Every house guest nominates for the two housemates they want to be
evicted.
- The two (or more) with the most votes are up for eviction.
- The PUBLIC vote for the housemate they want to see evicted and they have
the control over who leaves - once someone is up for eviction - there's no
way off the block.
- Also since its Joe public who vote them out there's much less game play /
backstabbing / lying / bitching as the public would see this and boot them
out. It's far more civilized (or rather boring) as a result. There's no real
game playing at all as the house guests have very little power - plus they
always agonize over the voting (like they didn't know it was part of the
game) as they all get really friendly and can't stand to see anyone leave.
The whole thing over here is completely different - and the eviction shows
are all about the public reaction and a huge interview with our 'Julie' (Davina
McCall).
In the last week the public vote for who they want to win - no sequestering,
no jury - it's all down to the people who can see everything including the
DR footage.
Have fun - speak to you soon,
Claire |
A few people have written to tell me they had the Diamond
PoV in England. There, during the this round it's the HoH that casts the
vote. This would mean Rob would take out Jun, leaving the final three
himself, Ali and Erika. I wouldn't put much hope in that happening here.
First I don't even know for sure if they do that in the UK. It's possible
they're thinking about the last round, where the HoH selects the person they
want them for the final two. Second, This isn't England, there's no reason
to think we'd play this round different. [Update: As you can see at right,
we got an answer to that. It's played just like BB1]
People have asked me how they'll extend the show until the
24th. I don't know. Maybe a twist? I don't expect Wednesday's HoH contest
to be over on Wednesday. I think it will be multi-part and over several
days. That's just my opinion.
Lastly, many people have written to ask if Robert could
nominate himself. I really don't know the answer to that, but it doesn't
matter. Robert doesn't know what we know, and he hasn't thought of it to
even consider it.
I hope I've written this clear enough that you can tell my
opinions from the facts. I seem to be causing a lot of confusion lately.
10:12AM Wake Up Call 10:17AM Second
Call. Of course Jun is already up. 11:00AM Jun tells of the dream
she had last night, she went show shopping and was so happy.
12:20PM Tanning. Ali and Jun talk about the
labels they think BB put on them based on the video they saw last night.
Jun thinks they're showing her as the bitch, and Ali as the flirt. Jun asks Ali,
"So what's Erika?"
There was a great scene I thought I captured in an audio
clip, but I goofed. Ali is spewing venom about Jun to Erika. Ali asks
Erika if she ever said she'd never vote for Ali because Ali didn't apply to be
on the show. "What do you mean I didn't apply to be on the show? I
had to take time off from work and fly out here. Just because I didn't
fill out a paper application.... " Erika says, she never said
that and it's Jun just stirring up trouble. Erika: "I'm so
glad I haven't been campaigning this week because Jun is just digging her own
grave." Ali: "I don't know why she would even try to stir shit up."
Ali looks really bad for the horrible things she's
saying about Jun. Jun looks really bad for making this up and getting Ali
all stirred up. Ali goes to the DR, and Jun's outside (and out of hearing
distance), Robert says to
Erika, "Why would Jun say that?" Erika, "Because that's what I told her."
Robert: "You did?" Erika: "Yeah, I knew she'd take it back to Ali,
then I'd deny it and Jun would like an idiot."
2:00PM There will be no rehearsal for the HoH contest. The veto
is live, and Ali's vote will be cast in front of the others, but then it really
doesn't matter. The Broadcast: Erika says Robert must be lonely,
all of a sudden he started clinging to her. Ali and Jun think they're both
liars. A DR scenes has Jun saying she alliances with everyone but, "my
alliance with Ali should be my strongest." Second quarter dealt with the
stress and lack of privacy because no one wants to leave the other alone.
And then... the final veto competition, the dreaded diamond veto.
Eight steps to the PoV
[6 minutes] We saw
that Jun was a really close second. We saw them being told that one of
them would get a T-Mobile phone call. The second half open with the escape
from Big Brother House that won Ali and Jun the blimp ride.
Escape from Big Brother House
[4 minutes]
Then
the T-Mobile phone call for Robert came in. BTW, Rob said the reason he
took the phone out to the kitchen was the reception on the T-Mobile phone was
bad and he thought it would be better nearer the yard. Robert said the DR
scene that followed had the interviewer crying too.
Robert talks to Elena
[4 minutes] Next we saw the blimp
ride and the home alone kids. Blimp
[5 minutes] When the Ali and Jun got home, we saw some
more trash talk about the game. A DR scene with Erika shows she's been
lying to Robert, she doesn't intend to take him to finals as she promised.
She says she's loyal to the alliance, and wants to go with Alison.
The Reality of Reality: Tonight's episode was four star!
How to get on a reality show, how to win, what do you do when you've got
four people in the BB house on September 11th 2001, and how to extend your
fifteen minutes of fame. If you missed this
show, it will repeat, check your local listings. Tomorrow night's episode
airs during the live broadcast of BB in some areas, so wind up those VCRs.
 7:00PM
Dinner's Here They had another great fest.
8:00PM Ali gives Robert a haircut with the kitchen scissors. .
Robert says it's now the perfect length. 8:35PM Erika at Season Two Wrap
Party Erika tells Jun and Alison that she was at the season two wrap party
at Belly's. Ali wants to know how she got to go, and Erika says she knew
someone that called her to come. Says she was only there twenty minutes.
She talked to Monica and she said she hated Nicole. It's so strange
to hear Erika talk about this because I just watched Mike Boogie, Will and
Monica with scenes from the Belly Lounge on The Reality of Reality.
8:40PM Jun's Called into the DR to get a candle making kit, it's
tonight's craft, busy project. Ali's real excited about the project, Jun's
not. As they invade Jun's kitchen, she becomes protective of her cooking
utensils.
9:30PM Ali said that in the DR they were asking her about the candle
making, she told them she didn't know what to say about it and asked the DR
interviewer to tell her, and she just repeated it. She asked Jun if they
ever tell her what to say and Jun said no.
9:55PM While they wait for the wax in their candles to cool, Ali does
her workout (jumping rope and stuff), as she checks the temperature for a better
idea of what to wear tomorrow night for the HoH competition. Erika's doing
some dance class routines. Roberts enjoying his last night in the HoH
room. Later they'll be some card games, and some more packing, before
packing it in. |

2003: Nothing is Happening
Today. |
|
6:45AM BBT
I don't think there's a PoV meeting today and there are no challenges. As
Robert put it yesterday, "There's nothing left to plan." Oh sure,
there'll be nasty things said, but until they show the DR scenes on TV you never
know if it meant anything.
All summer people have been sending cool stuff I never get
around to posting. This web site is pretty funny,
The Giovinco Family.
Reminder: See Will Kirby, winner of
Big Brother 2, producers Arnold Shapiro and Allison Grodner on "The Reality
of Reality." The first of a five part series airs tonight on Bravo.
Monday is: "How Real Is Real?" Tuesday:
"America's Instant Idols" Wednesday: "Behind the Scenes" Thursday: "Everything
New Is Old" Friday: "Outrageous Worldwide TV" Will is on Tuesday, John de
Mol, creator of Big Brother on Friday, they might appear on other episodes as
well. (Thanks Mariah) 10:30AM There was a wake up call, but
only Jun woke up. 11:40AM Everyone up with nothing to do. Jun's
working in the kitchen, Ali's laying in the sun, Robert's lost.
1:15PM Not much talk in the BB house
today. The HGs have mentioned that the house shrink is in the DR today.
Lunch will be cooked on the grill today. The chef, Jun, has been preparing
food most of the day. Alison did her laundry.
Jun says she was in the house a week before she
talked to Jee, "Oh I'd say 'excuse me,' and 'hi,' but we didn't talk for the
whole first
 |
Monday in the Big Brother
house (it was either this or another picture of Jun eating). |
For lunch, Robert grills
chicken and a turkey dog for Erika. Ali tells Jun that she wants to talk to her
and Erika. She tells Jun that she's has to make the best decision for
herself and if they think it out they will know. But when Ali does bring
the subject up, she puts in terms that makes it sound more like she hasn't
decided, and is waiting for Julie to ask for her vote. It was a
short speech, followed by silence.
6:10PM Robert tells Erika he believes Ali
when she says she hasn't decided.
7:00PM American Dinner Arrives
Tonight the HGs will be dinning on upscale American cuisine. Shrimp scampi
,New England clam chowder, salad, garlic cheese bread, stuffed filet of salmon,
and lobster tails. For dessert there's both pecan pie and carrot cake.
Every night so far there was minor complaint about the meal (wrong type of soy
sauce, too much garlic...), but not tonight, everything was perfect.
7:15PM Video Bonus The HGs got a treat tonight, a screening
of the highest rated summer reality show, "Big Brother 4."
They got to see all their competitions starting from the beginning, with
the first HoH contest "Who's Your Chum?" with the buckets of fish guts falling on your partner strapped
on the chaise lounge. Then the first luxury challenge, Shiny Hiny,
that won them the key to the hot tub. The Spuds food competition
was next. [Don't forget, you can re-live all these moments too in the Big
Brother 4 Archive, starting with week
one.]
They have a blast watching themselves and all
the HGs that started this adventure with them. They all agree that Nate
doesn't look as good on TV, and Ali and Jun have gained weight. They get a
kick out of the cheap stock music that's used to set the tone for the various
events. Erika smiles as she sees David again, "Ohhh he's so cute..."
And yes, Alison objected to the way she was edited, the slow-motion hug with
Nathan, and the camera angles at their dinner that looked more romantic on video
than in the BY. Jun: "I'm definitely the bitch of the show." Erika: "No
you're not! You're funny!"
Really crappy clip
[31 minutes] 8:40PM Robert: "Well, you wondered what
they did to fill up the three hours a week, now you know. That was the
competitions, not the diary rooms and stuff. Can you imagine how good this show
is. Ali: "I look like a big pork chop."
10:50PM Rerun Big Brother lets them
watch the tapes again.
2:00AM HGs Go to Bed
About The Reality of
Reality:
The show pretty much implies that all reality shows are manipulated, if not
just plain faked. As far as Big Brother goes, they claim they
show is edited to show "a different reality from what viewers see on the
live feeds." Yeah, the TV version is cleaner, big deal. Put
Big Brother on cable, it would look like the live feeds. They warn
you that Big Brother could edit DR scenes to mislead you, or increase
the drama. The warning implies they do, but they never said that.
They use a clip of Will Kirby saying that "Reality TV is just a pathetic
attempt to get strangers to validate you as a person." Great clip, but
it's not the first time he said it. While in the house Will was
talking to another HG, and said "If you're not here to win the game and get
the money, then you're using Reality TV as a pathetic attempt to get
strangers to validate you as a person." Completely different.
So I'm very leery of a documentary that manipulated that.
The series harped on how what you see on some
TV shows isn't what it looked like when it happened. Although there
have been clear cases of fraud (like on the series "Manhunt"), a lot
of it is just technical recreation stuff. I watch the TLC series "While
You Where Out." On the show the decorators knock on the door and go into
the house. You don't need to be a retired FBI guy to know it's fake,
because when the door is answered, the camera angle switches to an interior
shot looking out the door. Obviously the cameras, lights and sound guy
went in before the decorators knocked on the door. As a
viewer it's more fun to watch "Amazing Race" and think there's just
two people to a team, and forget there's a cameraman and a sound guy in the
raft with them.
I still think it would be better if "Big
Brother" showed our HGs not wanting to win the blimp ride. It
still has a happy ending. Afterwards they said it was a once in a
lifetime event they'll never forget. And that was live, without
prompting. |
