This hit, homespun series ran on CBS from 1963
to 1970 and was set in the laid-back town of
Hooterville. Kate (Bea Benaderet) was the
widowed owner of the Shady Rest Hotel, aided by
her three beautiful daughters, Betty Jo, Billie
Jo and Bobbie Jo, and lazy Uncle Joe (Edgar
Buchanan). Also stars Charles Lane and Frank
Cady.

Featured are the pilot episode "Spur Lane
to Shady Rest," in which Homer Bedloe's
railroad investigation brings him to
Hooterville. Then Uncle Joe gets into the
cologne business in "Please Buy My
Violets," and Kate tries to get Billie Jo a
date in "Kate's Recipe for Hot
Rhubarb." 75 min.

A brochure about the Shady Rest is sent to a
travel columnist in "A Night at the
Hooterville Hilton." And in "Herby
Gets Drafted," a fellow who likes Billie Jo
