| CBS cancelled "Father
Knows Best" in March of 1955. NBC picked the
series up and moved it to an earlier time (Wednesdays at
8:30PM). Robert Young felt the series had run long
enough, and pulled the plug on it in 1960. CBS started
airing the reruns in primetime from October 1960 to
September 1962, at which time ABC picked up the reruns
for primetime and ran them until April 5, 1963. And all
this happened after the series was a hit on radio in
1949. |
