Fort Courage had a treaty with the Hekawi Indians that made souvenirs for Sergeant O'Rourke (Forrest Tucker).  Among the industrious Native Americans were:  Chief Wild Eagle (Frank deKova), Crazy Cat (Don Diamond), Roaring Chicken (Edward Everett Horton), and on occasion: Flaming Arrow (Phil Harris), Bald Eagle (Don Rickles), and Wise Owl (Milton Berle).  There was also another tribe, the Shuggs.  They didn't have a treaty with the Shuggs, and they sometimes attacked the fort.  The Shuggs were mostly stunt men,  getting shot and falling off horses.
